The Tren a las Nubes (Train to the clouds) is one of the three highest railways in the world. It departs from the city of Salta (at 3,894 feet above sea level) and ends its journey at La Polvorilla viaduct (at 13,850 feet above sea level).
Tren de las Nubes, running from the city of Salta - capital of Salta province - in Argentina's NW to the border with Chile.
Its highest point is located at La Polvorilla viaduct, a remarkable engineering achievement - both a curve and a slope at the same time - 224 meters long and 63 meters high, at an altitude of 13,779 feet (4,230 meters) above sea level.
One of the world’s greatest train rides, the Train to the Clouds (Tren a las Nubes), takes visitors on a scenic 269-mile (434-kilometer) journey, ascending 13,842 feet (4,220 meters), passing through 21 tunnels and crossing over 29 bridges and 13 viaducts. The climax of the trip comes as the train crosses La Polvorilla viaduct, which pans a massive desert canyon.

Train to the Clouds - Salta - Argentina
Tren a las Nubes - Argentina
The Tren a las Nubes (Train to the Clouds) is a tourist train service in Salta Province, Argentina. The service runs along the eastern part of the Salta–Antofagasta railway line of the Belgrano Railway that connects the Argentine Northwest with the Chilean border in the Andes mountain range, over 4,220 metres (13,850 ft) above mean sea level, the fifth highest railway in the world. Originally built for economic and social reasons, it is now primarily of interest to tourists as a heritage railway, though cheaper tickets are also available for locals to use the train as transport.

I went to the Salta station at 7 am the next morning. To ride an Argentine alpine train. Instead of taking the train here, I take the bus to the alpine train station. Previously there was a alpine train right here from Salta, but for safety reasons, some sections are buses. It takes about 3 hours by bus from Salta to San Antonio Cobre Station. San Antonio Cobre is a village at 3774 meters above sea level. This station is the third highest in the world. People should get off the bus and buy an alpine train ticket from this station again. The train, departing from San Antonio Cobre Station, will take two and a half hours to and from the La Pole Boría bridge. This alpine train has the nickname Train to the Cloud. It is a nickname because it is a train that travels so high. The train runs three times a week, and about 300 people can ride in five spaces. There is a souvenir shop, a post office, and an emergency room for in-room emergency patients. Please send a cheer to Korea! Colea ~ Argentina ~ Argentina ~ ~ The wonderful Andes plateau of 4,000 meters above sea level is unfolding. It was difficult to get to bus from Dawn to Cobre, but the section of the cloud train is a wonderful section that makes you forget your hardship. This train departs from San Antonio de Roscow Bres and runs to the La Palveline bridge. La Pole Boria is one of the first buildings in the area and a major attraction. This train runs 4,220 meters above sea level. This railroad was built to transport mined mining near Salta to Chile's harbor, now in service for tourism. In the middle of the train there is a post office where you can send postcards. I will send it to my family and friends. This is for Valentina in Argentina. I wrote that I love my family. A postcard stamped on the [Cloud Train] will be a good memory for tourists.
