The reason for so many punctures was that the hedges had just been cut with the associated thorns etc left behind in the mud.

Last Calls for Cheltenham - 1965
The old GWR terminus station at Cheltenham Spa (St James) lost a considerable amount of its purpose in 1961 when through trains over the MSWJR were withdrawn, closely followed by Kingham services the following year. By Summer 1965 just a few DMU services to Gloucester survived and a number of these are seen in May at the station and the nearby intermediate Chelenham Spa (Malvern Road), complete closure taking place on 3rd January 1966.

R & D3 Stratford via Maffra Steam Train Excursion 22nd April 1967
R 749 and D3639 were utilized for a tour in April 1967. The R class steam locomotive took the train between Traralgon and return while the D3 locomotive was used for the Maffra line section. The Maffra line branched off at Traralgon and there was a connection from Maffra to Stratford which enabled trains to travel to sale via Maffra. Our train thus was able to travel to Maffra and then to Stratford, returning to Traralgon along the main line. On the trip some L class electric locomotive were seen on goods trains and on the Gippslander

Circle line (London Underground)
The Circle line is a London Underground service in a spiralling shape, running from Hammersmith to Edgware Road and then looping once around central London back to Edgware Road. The railway is below ground in the central section and on the loop east of Paddingdon, and, unlike London's deep-level tube railways, the railway tunnels are just below the surface and of similar size to those on British main lines. Coloured yellow on the tube map, the 17-mile line serves 36 stations, including most of London's main line railway termini. Most of the route and all of the stations are shared with the District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. On the Circle line and the Hammersmith & City line combined, over 114 million passenger journeys are made each year. 21 of the 36 stations are below ground.
The first section opened in 1863 when the Metropolitan Railway opened the world's first underground line between Paddington and Farringdon with wooden carriages and steam locomotives. The same year a select committee report recommended an 'inner circle' of railway lines connecting the London railway termini, and the Metropolitan District Railway was formed to build the southern portion of the line. Due to conflict between the two companies it was October 1884 before the inner circle was completed. The line was electrified in 1905, and in July 1933 the two companies were amalgamated into the London Passenger Transport Board. In 1949 the Circle line appeared as a separate line for the first time on the Tube map. In December 2009 the closed loop around the centre of London on the north side of the River Thames was broken at Edgware Road and extended west to become a spiral serving Hammersmith.

2019 Mar 2 Mansfield St. Peter's Model Railway Group Exhibition
Here is footage taken at the Mansfield Model Railway Exhibition, March 2nd 2019.
I decided on a convoluted journey to this exhibition - drive to Toton near Nottingham, take the tram to Nottingham railway station, then the Robin Hood Line train to Mansfield, just for variety. Probably double the journey time by car, but far more relaxing.
I hope you enjoy this video. If you do, please subscribe for further videos to follow this year.

London Railway Day Out - 23rd April 2016
A video that I have been looking forward to creating and uploading for a long time, the big day trip to London to explore the stations of the capital city of the United Kingdom.
In March, Virgin Trains had a seat sale on for three days, with deals to London Euston for £10 one way if booking in advance was done. I, along with other friends, took up the deal and made a full day of it. We tried to get as many stations in as we could during the twelve or so hours that we were in the capital. Plenty of traction that I never normally see were sighted and new locations visited also.
Join me on this video diary as I leave my hometown and spend the day in the capital of the British Railway Network. The day is full of high's, lows and great friends and couldn't of been better.

District line
The District line is a London Underground service that crosses Greater London from east to west. From Upminster, the eastern terminus, the line runs through Central London to Earl's Court before dividing into three western branches, to Ealing Broadway, Wimbledon and Richmond. There is a short branch that goes from Earl's Court to Kensington (Olympia). A branch also runs north from Earl's Court to Edgware Road via Paddington. Coloured green on the tube map, the line serves 60 stations in 40 miles (64 km), and with bridges across the Thames on the Wimbledon and Richmond branches is the only London Underground line to cross the river in this way. The track and stations between Barking and Aldgate East are shared with the Hammersmith & City line, and between Tower Hill and Gloucester Road and on the Edgware Road branch with the Circle line. Some of the stations are shared with the Piccadilly line. Of the 60 stations served, 25 are below ground. Unlike London's deep-level tube railways, the railway tunnels are just below the surface, and the trains are of a similar size to those on British main lines.
The District line is the busiest of the sub-surface lines as well the fifth busiest line overall on the London Underground with over 208 million passengers in the year 2011/12.
