TransJakarta is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was the first BRT system in Asia. TransJakarta commenced operations on 15 January 2004 with the aim of providing a fast public transport system to help reduce rush hour traffic.
I invited nico once again to join me as I experience the first and largest BRT system in Asia. In this video, I tried also the elevated transjakarta bus line to ciledug. To know more about my experiences, please continue watching this video.

Riding the TransJakarta (Jakarta, Indonesia)
The TransJakarta is the Indonesian government's attempt to provide a fast public transport system and reduce traffic in the capital. As of January 2019, there are a total of 155 routes. The buses run in dedicated lanes and its shelters are easy to spot, usually in the middle of the road and are reached by elevated bridges.
Tips when riding the TransJakarta:
1) The routes can get a bit confusing, a little research before you travel can go a long way. Know the destination of your bus and the name of your stop. Signs in the shelters might offer some assistance, but the most reliable information you can get is from the bus conductor himself. Every TransJakarta bus has a conductor that stays in the bus and shouts out the name of the stops and the route of the bus. The conductors don't speak much English though.
2) Fares are cheap but you have to pay with a prepaid electronic card. Any children taller than 90 cm must pay the fare.
3) There is a designated area for female passengers, usually in front.
4) For tourists who are flexible with time and are simply wishing to experience the TransJakarta ride, take note that it gets really crowded on weekdays during rush hour. The TransJakarta is relatively empty on weekends for routes going to tourist areas such as Pecenongan, Istiqlal Mosque, Ancol, etc.

Pemerintah memperkenalkan moda transportasi premium, untuk mengurangi kepadatan lalu lintas ibu kota. Bus Transjabodetabek Premium rencananya akan beroperasi pada Oktober mendatang. Rencananya, bus premium ini akan dioperasikan di sejumlah kawasan perumahan di kota penyangga, dengan tujuan pusat kota.

TransJakarta (stylised as transjakarta) is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Jakarta, Indonesia.
It was the first BRT system in Asia. TransJakarta commenced operations on 15 January 2004 with the aim of providing a fast public transport system to help reduce rush hour traffic.
The system is considered as the first revolutionary public transit mode in the capital city of Indonesia.
The buses run in dedicated lanes and ticket prices are subsidized by the regional government. As of 2018, TransJakarta has the world's longest BRT system (251.2 km in length).,and serves on average 663,000 passengers daily
Travel reminds those paying attention that they are not the only man in the world, that this is a huge world and that they are only a small, insignificant human in it. This is quite a leisure experience – to go to another country or another state and see large numbers of peoples living differently, and coming to understand how large the world actually is. When people who learn return home, they keep with them this perspective for the rest of their life and they benefit from this is knowledge and perspective.
Another benefit to traveling is coming to see one’s native country in a different light, in a different way. This is done through being able to compare and contrast home from a foreign location, done most always through traveling. A new perspective may be formed

Glodok is an administrative village of Taman Sari, West Jakarta, Indonesia. The area is also known as Pecinan or Chinatown since the Dutch colonial era, and is considered the biggest in Indonesia. Majority of the traders and residents of Glodok are Chinese descent. The area dates back to colonial times when in November 1740, Dutch East Indies Company (VOC) designated Glodok as a residential area for ethnic Chinese. Administratively, the area is a kelurahan under the Taman Sari subdistrict, West Jakarta.[1]
One of the biggest trading center for electronic goods in Jakarta is located within the area now.
Kata Glodok berasal dari Bahasa Sunda Golodog. Golodog berarti pintu masuk rumah, karena Sunda Kalapa (Jakarta) merupakan pintu masuk ke kerajaan Sunda. Karena sebelum dikuasai Belanda yang membawa para pekerja dari berbagai daerah dan menjadi Betawi atau Batavia, Sunda Kelapa dihuni oleh orang Sunda. Perubahan 'G' jadi 'K' di belakang sering ditemukan pada kata-kata Sunda yg dieja oleh orang non-Sunda, terutama suku Jawa dan Melayu yang kemudian banyak menghuni Jakarta. Sampai saat ini di Jakarta masih banyak ditemui nama daerah yang berasal dari Bahasa Sunda meski dengan ejaan yang telah sedikit berubah.

Jakarta is the 2nd largest megalopolis in the world after #Tokyo. At present public transit system of Jakarta consists of BRT, MRT, LRT and Commuterline. Transjakarta is the largest BRT system in the world with 260 kilometres of dedicated bus lane in 13 corridors. Other than these corridors Transjakarta serves more than 160 routes with its 3000 bus fleet. As of 2019, about 0.8 million passengers use this bus rapid transit daily.
