Huge tumbleweeds bury cars and close motorway
A mountain of tumbleweeds closes a motorway and buries vehicles in Washington state in the United States.
The tumbleweeds, blown by winds of around 40mph, closed State Route 240 for 10 hours.
Police said the plant matter was 20 to 30 feet deep in places and authorities had to use snowploughs to rescue a number of trapped vehicles.
The Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted: “A pretty incredible sight from SR 240 where tumbleweed closed the road for 10 hours last night.
“Big thanks to our crews who worked through the night to clear the roadway.”

The Bailiff Bullies, one of whom had recently assaulted a pregnant woman at an eviction, were quickly shown the error of their ways in a peaceful and non violent way.
The Bury Policemen who attended the attempted eviction shortly after the Bailiffs had been evicted acted in a thoroughly decent manner and, much more importantly, acted upon their respective Oaths and earned the respect of the protectors outside Darren's home.
