Bolivia Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Bolivia – Welcome to the “Rooftop of the World” where you can experience breathtaking landscapes, ancient civilizations and colorful wildlife. Check out the best things to see and do in Bolivia.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Bolivia:
A #vacation to #Bolivia, a landlocked South American country, holds the promise of discovery for adventurous souls. While pretty Sucre is Bolivia’s judicial capital, La Paz is its political capital and also its main tourist hub.
Journey high to the Mirador Laikacota for city views. Deep in the valley below #visit the central Plaza Murillo, home to the most precious buildings: the Presidential Palace, National Congress and Metropolitan Cathedral. Stay near the Plaza San Francisco for its proximity to hidden gems, such as the curious Witches’ Market, the Musical Instrument Museum and the Coca Museum.
Bolivia is a diamond in the rough; relatively undeveloped, but extremely authentic, colorful and cultural. Bolivia’s riches shine through in the country’s high altiplanos, its floating reed islands on Lake Titicaca, the silver mines of Potosi, the infinite salt flats of the Salar de Uyuni and the untamed tropical lowlands in the vast Amazon basin.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

La Paz, Bolivia Trip 2019
24 Jan 2019
Turns out they bury a baby llama in the foundation of a building as a sacrifice to pacahamama so that she blesses the building. The creepy part is that they used to use hobos instead. No lie.

Protests at Copacabana, Bolivia Border Closed | Bus Ride from Cusco, Peru to La Paz, Bolivia
Hi Guys,
In this video we take a bus from Cusco, Peru to Puno, Peru to the Bolivia border. Unfortunately over the past few month's the Copacabana Border has been having protests and on several occasions they have closed the border. There have been many protests in Peru and Bolivia and many roads, businesses have been closed. It's not a very good time to visit South America as from our experience we have run into protests in every country we have visited so far.
After doing research we quickly learned this has been an ongoing problem and isn't likely going away anytime soon. Luckily for us, the protest's we have witnessed haven't been violent; However they have caused massive disruptions in our travel plans and have cost us thousands of dollars in rescheduling hotels and flights that we're non-refundable.
The bus rude from Cusco to Puno took about 8-9 hours and was an. overnight bus. We didn't get much sleep, the seats only recline slightly and the road was extremely bumpy. We arrived in Puno at around 5AM and waited in the hotel loby for hours until a room became ready. We stayed overnight in Puno, Peru for one night. During the day in Puno we visited the floating islands on Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca, straddling the border between Peru and Bolivia in the Andes Mountains, is one of South America's largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water. Said to be the birthplace of the Incas, it’s home to numerous ruins. Its waters are famously still and brightly reflective. Around it is Titicaca National Reserve, sheltering rare aquatic wildlife such as giant frogs.
The next day we boarded the Bolivia Hop bus and began our trip to Copacabana. When we we're 10 minutes from the border, they had announced that the border was closed. We only had one option, to drive backwards for a couple hours and try to enter Bolivia from another border. Everyone's hotel in Copacabana was already booked and we all lost lot's of money from this. When we arrived at the alternative border, we had many problems. A stop at the border should have take 1 hour, turned into a 6 hour ordeal and there we're no good restaurants or anything it was just a small town with a few convenient stores and dirt roads with garbage everywhere.

Street Market in La Paz, Bolivia.
We traveled to La Paz, the city located at around the altitude of 3600 m. We then flew to Uyuni lake, but it was thrilling to go through the center of city Bolivia , we could see the real daily lives of the people.
Bolivia - La Paz - Downtown, City Highlights
La Paz, a city between colonial splendour and mundane fate of many of its residents, that fascinates everyone interested in absolute contradictions. An old couple play songs that stem from a time before they went blind. He plugs the guitar, she sings to the ¾ polka-rhythm. Streetdogs struggle for something edible and sex-mates, defend, mark their territory. In the historical centre locals pull cultivated mini-dogs through the high streets. The art scene is lively. At Calle Jaen (Street) you will explore finest handcraft, art galleries side by side with stores for vegan cuisine and esotericism.

???????? South America has a reputation for danger and violence. And so whilst on my short stay in Bolivia I decided to take a cable car up to El Alto which is a part of La Paz known by locals as a place for theft and violence. Would I survive with my camera? Watch and find out...

Ep - 10 Lost In La Paz, Bolivia
La Paz the capital of Bolivia is an amazing city. I was stuck here for 10 days as my tourist visa for Peru couldn't come on time.
Here are some of the top things to do in La Paz:
The death road - 60kms down hill thrilling experience on a mountain bike.
Cholitas Wrestling - You would see women wearing tradition Bolivian dress in a wrestling ring. What a wired and amazing experience.
chakartalya mountain - Climb a mountain of height 5400mtrs above sea level and you will be breathless after walking every 10 steps.
Witches market - It is an amazing market where you can shop all the alpaca clothing and various other souvenirs.
There are many more things to do but my fav was death road and I would love to do it again.
