In cooperation with local partners Fojo is offering training according to local needs, such as basic skills, news room management, training of trainers and more.
Fojo also supports the establishment of a national media training institute in close collaboration with a number of international media development partners and the Myanmar media industry. The road layout is the same like before but many new buildings were built lately. Almost all the roads are in concrete. More traffic, especially motorbikes.

A Sudden Surge of Three Wheel Taxis in Pathein, သုံးဘီးအငှားယာဥ် ပုသိမ်မြို့ in 4K
Three-wheel taxis were very popular in the 60s and 70s. Mazda K360 was common in Yangon and Mandalay. Hopestar and Humbee were used in Prone and Pathein.
These three-wheel taxis were gradually phased out in the late 70s with the arrival of Mazda B360 and B600 taxis.
A new type of three-wheel vehicles were introduced in mid-noughties. They are essentially converted Chinese motorcycles. A passenger compartment attached to the back after removal of the back wheel and they were called Tuk-tuk, synonymous to Thailand.
Myanmar tuk-tuks are very convenient ways of transport in small towns and cities. Theses converted Myanmar tuk-tuks run as taxis, local buses and cargo trucks.
Recently, Indian make three-wheel tuk-tuk arrived in Pathein and they play an important role in Pathein.
It is very convenient and cheap for passenger transport but no fare meter was fitted.
These three-wheel taxis were very popular since April 2019 in Pathein.

Pathein is the fourth largest city of Myanmar. It is the capital city of Ayeyarwady Division. It is located 190 km (120 miles) west of Yangon on the bank of Pathein (Ngawun) River. which is a western branch of the Irrawaddy River, the city has a population of 237,089 (2017 census).
Pathein has a scenic waterfront and many Buddhist temples, including the main sight of Shwemokhtaw Pagoda.

Wanna test drive a motorbike in Pathein, Myanmar?
A high proportion of Myanmar does not follow the rules and regulation when driving. The recent increase in the number of motorbikes causes lots of road traffic collisions and increase in the fatality in the younger generation.
People obey the rules and regulation during office hours when the traffic police are present. Most of them do not wear a helmet.
Strick regulation with tougher punishment is required to avoid unnecessary road traffic deaths in your generation.

Pathein Chinlone or cane ball tournament, February 11th to 13th, 2018 ခြင်းလုံးပြိုင်ပွဲ, ပုသိမ်
Chinlone is the traditional sport of Burma (Myanmar). Both men and women play chinlone, often on the same team. Adults and children can play on the same team.
One variation of Chinlone is a combination of sport and dance called “circle kick,”. Another variation is competitive, playing between the two teams over a net. The other is the solo performance style called tapandaing.

Khaing Khaing Kyaw Myanmar restaurant has so many branches in Myanmar. On my way to Pathein, my friends suggested me to have lunch in Khaing Khaing Kyaw Restaurant, Pan Tha Naw Branch.
They know that I love vegetables to go with Myanmar fish paste. They said to me that this shop is different from the others in that they provide varieties of vegetables, varieties of fish pastes and side dishes as a buffet.
The restaurant is more or less about the midway between Yangon and Pathein, on Pathein Road. There are many restaurants around Pan-Tha-Naw area.
The restaurant is very spacious, well ventilated and well lit. The staff are very polite and very welcoming.
There are many varieties of curries, Myanmar traditional food and snacks, freshly fried vegetables.
Food is delicious with reasonable price.
