Interview with John Kohler at the Canada Fruit Fest at Lake Okanagan in British Columbia on fixing the digestive system whether it’s IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, crohn’s, ulcerative colitis or general indigestion/poor digestion.
LOVED hanging out together over the weekend. Just an endless source of information. Stay til the end to catch a few clips from the fruit farm tour in BC. Amazing quality fruit straight from the trees.
Fruit Fest music was incredible, community was incredible, fruit was incredible. All of the above. See you at a fruit festival soon :)

Coast Salish Welcome Song
On a recent Forest Walk through Stanley Park, Vancouver blogger Miss604 was treated to a traditional Coast Salish Welcome Song performed by Chief Ian Campbell of the Squamish Nation. These songs are an integral part of Canadian Aboriginal culture, and are still performed today for visitors who come to BC seeking an Aboriginal cultural tourism experience.
Visit our website for more information on adding an Aboriginal cultural interpretation tour to your visit to Stanley Park:

Garden Clubs are Failing
I really, really want them to succeed. And some do, but many others are battling to maintain attendance. Local garden clubs and horticultural societies are the grass roots of the hobby. They're a sorely needed voice to challenge the dominance of the global horticultural supply chain. So why are so many clubs struggling? Here, I propose that these garden clubs are not failing because they can't find new members, but rather that they can't find new members because they're failing - failing to take on what I view as their four essential functions.
Please feel free to share this video with your local garden club or horticultural society. As mentioned in the video... I don't mind being wrong about one point or another, I mind us not having the conversation.

Tunnel Mountain - Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia
Welcome to the Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark! Tunnel Mountain is a unique, natural tunnel through the top of a mountain west of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. We started at the Windfall Lake trailhead, then proceeded a couple kilometres down the trail to Windfall Lake. We then bush-whacked along a creek, increasing in elevation. We broke out of the trees into a sub-alpine meadow with mountain all around. After ascending and descending a couple mountain ridges, we made it to the base of Tunnel Mountain. Although it looked impossible, there was a line of short alpine trees that lead to a steep scree slope just below the large tunnel opening. The scree slope was nerve-wracking, but possible. The large opening in the tunnel was amazing. Five to ten metres in, the tunnel makes a sharp right turn then shoots up to an opening near the summit of the mountain. The whole trip was amazing. The weather was threatening, but was kind enough to allow me to film. Huge thanks to Romy and Kevin for the trip!

Bighorn Sheep
Bighorn sheep on Crater Mountain, Ashnola Valley (across from Cathedral Provincial Park), BC. This was filmed at 16x optical zoom; we were a good distance away so there is some lens wobble because of the length of zoom. We had actually come up on one side of a hill as they came up on the other and we surprised each other face to face. Then they took off down the slope and I got this video. Now we know why so many tiny trees in the alpine have a suspicious base spot along the trunk!!
Roam Okanagan (Penticton & Summerland) Pt 3 of 5
The Geo has a malfunction, a fish in the Penticton Canal slaps Jesse in the face, and the guys hike Giant's Head in Summerland before visiting the only remaining and still functional section of the Kettle Valley Railway. This instalment has views overlooking the spectacular Okanagan Lake in all it's majesty at the same time as views of three sweaty and dirty dudes camping... sounds like a good time to me!
Drive around Mount Sefuri-san in Japan
On November 13th Naoko's brother, Tomayasu, offered to drive us to a plot he had bought up high on the 980m Mount Sefuri-san. He drove his Toyata Landcruiser with Naoko in the front seat with me in the back seat. The drive was really exciting with an almost sheer drop on one side - though bamboo tree would have stopped our fall. We met a few cars coming the other way, with Tomoyasu having X-Ray eyes as we drove around some 180 degree bends. The video definition unfortunately reduces the impact of this very enjoyable and exciting drive.
