It was a perfect day for a walk in Singapore, it was a warm day so I got my gear and went to the treetop hiking trail to make a video and take some picture.
the walk is about 11km and it takes about 4 to 5 hours depending how fast you go.

6 kms long TreeTop Walk is a must visit place for hikers and nature lovers traveling to Singapore. Located in Singapore’s largest MacRitchie reservoir, the TreeTop Walk and trail is full of natural flora and fauna. You can experience the hiking trails, to the plants and animals, and the great scenery above the trees. We felt so pleasing to find nature in tech city which also proves along with concrete Singapore have taken a proper care of greenery.

Lost And Alone At MacRitichie Reservoir Treetop Walk | EVALEE LIN
The best decision made that day was preparing ample mossy patches and insect repellent for the MacRitchie Reservoir TreeTop Walk. Oh and also checking out the weather forecast for the day. MacRitchie Reservoir TreeTop Walk seems like an easy task for many people. Just remember that, if you have serious fear of height/ falling, don’t attempt going to the MacRitchie Reservoir TreeTop Walk. And if you are not good at directions, better bring someone who is better at it with you. Don’t get lost alone like me at MacRitchie Reservoir. I can’t believe I actually got lost despite having google map with me. After the walk, I decided to get some food at MacRitchie Reservoir Mushroom Cafe. Without doing my research, I thought MacRitchie Reservoir Mushroom Cafe has air-con. But to my slight disappointment, it’s not. But the food is good, that made up for it. ;) Good food for a hungry and tired person!

MacRitchie Treetop Walk Singapore. 麦里芝树梢吊桥
The TreeTop Walk Singapore is the highlight of several long hiking routes in MacRitchie that brings you through the different stages of a mature secondary forest. The first of its kind in Singapore and in the region, this free-standing suspension bridge connects the two highest points (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang) in MacRitchie and offers a bird's eye view of the community of plants and animals that live in the forest canopy. The total length of the walkway is about 250 m and its height from the forest floor varies, with the highest point at 25 m.
Besides providing another avenue for nature recreation for Singaporeans, the TreeTop Walk also plays an important role in forest canopy research, an area many researchers were not able to get into because of lack of access. This bridge will help to facilitate surveys and plant identification work and further our understanding of how forest ecosystems work.

Due to our limited strength and energy, we managed to survive by taking the shortest route up (started from Flame tree park bus) stop)!
Had lots of fun while hiking up but there wasn't any spectacular views hahahahaha, maybe because of the route we took.. haha.

Singapore MacRitchie Nature Preserve Trails
Get to know the runner behind the camera:
The MacRitchie Reservoir is the oldest reservoir in Singapore and lies in the north-central part of the country. This virtual run will take you on a 6.5 mile (10.6km) trail around the circumference of the reservoir. The run will start at the main access point to park, where you’ll proceed to see the reservoir on your left-hand side. Out on the water you’ll see rowing teams practicing their skills and racing other boats. At about 2:50 into the run you’ll get a brief glimpse of a monitor lizard walking along the bottom right side of the path. Right after seeing the lizard you’ll make a turn and head into the nature trail where rocky terrain, rolling hills, and mostly shaded jungle forest await. You’ll see hikers, a few runners, and you’ll even come across a handful of monkeys along the path. After running through the dense jungle for the first half of the run, the second half of the run is mostly along the reservoir, much of it on a boardwalk. You’ll pass by the Singapore Island Country Club, a place where membership fees cost upwards of $150,000 annually. The run finishes right where you started, at the main entry point to the park and in front of the Mushroom Café. Enjoy this hour long run on one of the most popular nature trails in Singapore!

Opening Hours:
Tuesday - Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 8.30 am – 5pm
*Closed on Mondays, except on Public Holidays
Guidelines:
The TreeTop Walk gate closes at 5pm sharp. Visitors are advised to start hiking towards the bridge by 4.45pm from Ranger Station to avoid disappointment.
Please note that the walkway only allows for one-direction traffic. The entrance to the bridge is from the Ranger Station via Peirce track.
If you wish to organise a hike in the nature reserve for 30 people or more, please complete this application form and submit it to us at least one month before the date of the activity. Please note that for organised groups, only a maximum of 100 pax per day is allowed into the nature reserves. If the quota has been met for that day, you are required to opt for another day.

The distance to the entrance of the TreeTop Walk is approximately 4.5 km (1.5 - 2 hr walk) from MacRitchie Reservoir Park and 2.5 km (45 mins - 1 hr walk) from the car park at Venus Drive. A round trip including the TreeTop Walk is about 7 km to 10 km (3-5 hrs depending on your walking pace).
