[Wikipedia] Treherne, Manitoba
Treherne is an unincorporated urban community in the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held town status prior to January 1, 2015. It is located halfway between Winnipeg and Brandon on Provincial Highway 2. Primarily a farming community, Treherne has a population of around 700 people, and has two schools (Treherne Elementary School and Treherne Collegiate Institute) and a hospital.
Recently, a brand new daycare facility was opened in the community, and in 2006 Treherne proudly opened the Treherne Aquatic Centre next to a top-rated campground facility.
Treherne hosts the annual Run for the Hills marathon each fall with the course winding through the Tiger Hills. A popular tourist attraction in Treherne consists of a glass bottle house, chapel, wishing well, and outhouse, built by local residents Bob Cain and Fred Harp. Treherne also has a museum, which exhibits an extensive antique gun collection and a mini indoor village.

Treherne Bottle House and Church
In 1982, Bob and Dora Cain along with Fred Harp created a bottle house using 4000 bottles out on the Cain farm near Treherne, MB. That was only the beginning of their bottle ideas. The uniqueness of the project has resulted in a small bottle village moved from their farm and now located in downtown Treherne. There is a house, church, well and working washroom, all made of bottles. readreidread.com

Beausejour for Manitobaville 2011
Being a VERY proud member of this amazing community, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my love for Beausejour. The way people work together and help each other here makes you feel like you are in a totally different world. It's extremely amazing to say the least. The activities and facilities here are completely remarkable for a small town. Why live in the big city when you can have all the luxuries right here. Come join us at our Centennial Homecoming August 2012.
