Nag Tibba || A Trek Near To Mussoorie & Dehradun

Nag Tibba lies in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas, which are found to the north-east of Mussoorie. The peak is at an altitude of 3050 metres. Nag Tibba is also called the Serpent's Peak.
3 hour drive on Purola road from Mussoorie will take you at Nainbagh main market, take a road going up on the right side (also known as Nag Tibba road). From here, after a 15 km drive, you reach Panthwari village which is the starting point for the trek, and only 4-hour drive away from state capital Dehradun.

Trek near Mussoorie | A pahadi village Banali

We went from Chandigarh to Uttrakhand in search of an unknown trek in Tehri Garhwal.
We wanted to visit best place near Mussoorie for trekking. We came to know from locals about an unknown trek near Mussoorie.
After completing the Nag tibba trek I found this Banali Village trek to be much better than Nag tibba trek.

This was truly an amazing pahadi village. Banali is located on a Hilltop and is around 2 hours ride from Mussoorie.
You can reach the village directly by road from Mussoorie Chamba road. However, we went thru Chamba- Rishikesh road.

Banali is a trekkers' enjoyment. In spite of the fact that it is a generally obscure trail near Mussoorie, it can without much of a stretch be viewed as extraordinary compared to other ends of the week treks for somebody around Delhi.

The trek was very hard and took us 4 hours to finally visit the beautiful pahadi village. The Mussoorie and Dehradun look near from there.

It snows in the winters and remains cool in the summers.

We got a chance to see a Gadhwali wedding in the village. I will be uploading the next video of this pahadi marriage.

This amazing travel video showcases the captivating beauty of nature near Dehradun Mussoorie in the Uttarakhand state of India.

Binog hill is situated near Mussoorie cloud end. It is also famous because of Jwala Devi temple on the hill. It is around 5 km trek from the base. The route is average in terms of difficulty and enthralling in case of view. The dense forest offers a wide range of flora and fauna.

BHADRAJ TREK | TREKKING CUM HIKING | FOOTHILLS OF HIMALAYAS | MUSSOORIE - DEHRADUN | HD

•Bhadraj Hill Trek

Bhadraj Hill Trek is a modest, well-balanced trek for beginners. One of the best weekend treks in Mussoorie, it can be completed in one or two days. The trail to Dudhli Village is called Milkman’s Trail, as it helps supply milk to Mussoorie town every day. You’re likely to be envious of the “milkman” considering he gets to start his day on such a lovely note. All along the ridge, Gangetic plains slope down on either side, while Himalayan ranges sit snug in the distance.

•Dedicated to Lord Balbhadra

The Bhadraj Temple is dedicated to Lord Balbhadra (Lord Krishna’s younger brother). The idols inside are intriguing and are said to reflect Budhhist influences, which once were very present in these tracts bordering the Yamuna. The temple holds an annual fair from 15th to 17th Aug when the villagers throng the temple to make milk offerings to the deity. The mela (fair) is a grand affair and has been provided level ground for stalls, and even a helicopter pad.

The great bonus of this hike is that a cool breeze accompanies you all the way, even in the hot months, since the higher you climb, the cooler is the wind on your face. The views, whether to the snow peaks in the north, or over the Shivaliks in the south, are expansive, and the shady path through the oak jungle a constant pleasure.

नाग टिब्बा ट्रेक मसूरी | 02 Days Trek | Nag Tibba Mussoorie

Nag Tibba ('Serpent's Peak'), 3022 metres (9915 ft), is the highest peak in the lesser himalayan region of Uttarakhand state, and lends its name to the 'Nag Tibba Range', itself the next-northerly of the five folds of the Himalaya. It's two days trekking expedition from either side Pantwari or Devalsahri village, distance 50-60 km one way from Mussoorie. The Trekkers can enjoy glorious and glittering view of Garhwal Himalayas like, Yamunotri Peak, Black Cobra, Banderpooch, Swargarohini, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Thalay Sagar, Chaukhamba etc. The Nag Tibba (Serpent Temple) is one of the Nag Devta Temples in Garhwal Uttarakhand Region, It is believed to be the abode of 'Nag Devta' or God of Snakes, from which it borrows the first part of its name; 'Tibba' is a local word for hill or peak. Local villagers come here to offer their prayers to Nag Devta for the protection of their cattle and the live of the Villagers.

In this video, we trek to George Everest Summit. The trek is covered in two parts. Watch part 1 to see our initial climb and problems we faced. The trek has beautiful paths and tress along the way. One can enjoy the view of Dehradun from the summit. The road to George Everest is full of beautiful views and lush greenery. We also explored Lambi Dehar mines which is a known haunted place in Mussoorie.

Colonel Sir George Everest was a British surveyor and geographer who served as Surveyor General of India from 1830 to 1843. He is best known for having Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, named in his honor. Everest owned a house in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India, for about 11 years. He purchased it, sight unseen, from General Whish. Although now virtually derelict, it still has its roof, and there have been various plans to make it into a museum.

Built in 1832, the house is known today as Sir George Everest's House and Laboratory, or Park House. The house is situated in Park Estate about 6 kilometers west of Gandhi Chowk / Library Bazaar, (the west end of Mall Road in Mussoorie). Its location has panoramic views of the Doon Valley on one side and the Aglar River valley and the Himalayan Range to the north. (Wikipedia)

Surkanda Devi is a Hindu temple situated close to the small resort hamlet of Dhanaulti in the village Uniyal gaon of Tehri District. It is at an altitude of about 2510 metres lies close to nearby hill stations of Dhanaulti (8 km) and Chamba (22 km)walking distance of approx 3 km from Kaddukhal, the place where vehicles are parked.

It is surrounded by dense forests and affords a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himalayas to the north, and certain cities to the south (e.g., Dehradun, Rishikesh) The Ganga Dusshera festival is celebrated every year between May and June and attracts a lot of people. This is a temple which is situated among the trees of rounslii. It is covered with fog most of the time of the year.
