Sea Monster in Alaska CAUGHT on Video by U S Government ?
From Nessie making an appearance in Alaska, to the Russian's finding something extremely unsettling, this is Crypto Fun Friday !
While most people have to go searching for the Loch Ness Monster, a vacationer was fortunate enough to be gazing at the Loch … when Nessie simply popped her head out of the water … at least that’s the story we heard. A 28-year-old woman was on the balcony of her holiday home at Loch Ness when she saw a mysterious ripple on the surface, followed by a ‘blue thing’ swimming across. She grabbed her phone and managed to snap a few pictures … but when she tried to zoom in, the object disappeared. The woman claimed it’s not often one sees a monster while on holiday … but did she really see one?
Here’s another potential sea monster that was caught on video … this time in Russia. What appeared to be a huge, serpent-like object in remote Lake Turgoyak (tur-goy-ak) has people making the Nessie tie-ins. A kayaker said he spotted the mysterious object causing ripples on one area of the lake’s surface. The video footage shows large black rings that conceivably resemble the coils of a snake. While the kayaker claims the object appeared to be around 15 meters long and serpentine … he also conceded the ripples could have been caused by divers training. But as it turns out, no dive teams were swimming deep in that area of the lake on that day. Aside from the obvious comparison to Nessie, we couldn’t find that many theories about what this snakelike thing might have been … Care to give it a go?
Some of the clearest pictures of the Loch Ness Monster appeared earlier in 2016 … if it really was the legendary Nessie. An amateur photographer named Ian Bremner snapped the pictures that show a dark creature with a long, serpentine body bobbing along the surface of Loch Ness. The animal is estimated at around 2 meters long appears to have a tail, and and has a silvery sheen on its skin. Many sceptics point out that the animal’s head could be a seal, and the picture merely shows three of them playing in the water. But Mr Bremner has his believers … and they say the images closely resemble the most sharply focused examples of Nessie yet found.
Accounts of a sea monster have been documented since the 1800s in Barmouth, Wales when footprints as big as an elephant’s were found on the beach. Subsequent accounts described the creature’s appearance as similar to a crocodile’s. WItnesses who claimed to see the creature in broad daylight in 1975 described it as having a square face with a long neck and tail, and flippers. Earlier in 2016, the first-ever photograph of the legendary beast possibly surfaced.
Have you ever heard of the Morag (mor-rag)? It’s a Scottish sea monster that makes its home in Loch Morar (mora) … about 70 miles from Loch Ness. Stories of the creature date back to 1887 … and this cryptid is something of a paradox. It’s been described as having a beautiful, mermaid-like visage … but it’s also described as a demonic character whose presence was considered to portend death. According to folklore, the Morag can appear like a black heap that slowly rises in the water and moves along like a waterlogged boat. But more recent accounts describe it as a humped, serpentine creature, more along the lines of Nessie. The best known sighting occurred in 1969, when two men accidentally struck the creature with their boat.
Let’s head back to Russia for this one … At remote Lake Labynkyr (la-bink-er) in Siberia, a mysterious dark creature is said to inhabit the deep, icy waters. It’s called the 'Labynkyr (la-bink-er) Devil’ … and the lake it inhabits is so secluded that no one lives within a 100 mile radius. Except for an adventurer named Andrey Solovyez, who’s keeping a vigil there.. He’s braving temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius because he’s convinced he has proof of the creature’s existence -- his fishing nets were torn and shredded by something too powerful to be a fish. Reports of a Nessie-type creature have persisted in the region since the 19th century. And according to some scientists, sonar readings do indicate that at least one huge creature might lurk under the surface. Sightings analyzed by experts conclude the creature is up to 10 meters long, with a massive jaw that has a beaklike appearance and lots of teeth. Theories include the creature being a prehistoric marine reptile such as an ichthyosaurs (itch-thee-o-sore) or plesiosaur. Another possibility is the creature being a relic killer whale that was somehow marooned in the lake. For now, scientists still have no explanation for what the kind of animal it might be.

Yurok Tribe (USA), New Economy, Equator Prize 2019 Spotlight
To learn more visit:
The Yurok Tribe, native to Northern California, demonstrates how tribal sovereignty, sustainable forest management, climate change mitigation, and cultural resilience can be advanced through tribal innovation and collaboration. Once custodians of over 200,000 hectares of territory, land grabs have left the Yurok with stewardship rights to only 10 percent of their ancestral home. In a groundbreaking partnership to secure new forms of finance, the tribe has allied with the state government of California to auction carbon credits from their sustainably managed forests through the state’s cap-and-trade program. The tribe’s participation in the program has enabled them to re-acquire an additional 20,200 hectares of lands within the Yurok ancestral territory from a large timber company, and will provide finance for ecosystem restoration and protection. These initiatives are interwoven with efforts to protect tribal livelihoods and cultures, as the Yurok view their identity, culture, and livelihoods as deeply interconnected with nature.

Abandoned North Brother Island: New York City's Secret History
Abandoned and haunted island - North Brother Island - is a momument to New York's haunted past. This forbidden island's history reminds us the tragic stories of a forgotten passenger steamer General Slocum and the infamous Typhoid Mary. Remains of a hospital remind us of once a busy and dynamic area with many facilities functioning actively, which now has turned to a deserted, gloomy sight. The island has been taken back by nature thus resulting in an eerie, even haunted atmosphere. If you had the opportunity to step your foot onto this place... Would you dare to?

Survival GILL NETTING (Usually ILLEGAL!) | Rare Underwater Footage
I test out the cheapest fishing survival gill net on Amazon in a private stocked pond. Originally, we tried to fish out all our trout, but this got to be quite the job since the fish shied away from worms, and lures (preferring pellet feed). As the season wore on, we decided to try to bowfish, spearfish and now, since it iced over, gill net the pond in effort to harvest all our stocked fish.
I will show you rare underwater video from a go pro of a fish actually being caught in the gill net. I will teach you exactly how to hang and use a gill net to catch fish and the size of the mesh you should use. Should you ever find yourself in a survival situation, a gill net is a huge asset. All our fish are provided by Lyndon Trout Hatcheries:
The aerator used in this video provided by The Dug Out Dude:
This gill net is super illegal in most areas, so please be careful using them. Even better, let me test out the gill net! If the nets are legal in your area, you might want to have one nearby in case you are in a survival situation. My Gear (Shop and Support):
I will use an ice auger to drill a channel right through the middle of the pond. Next, we put the gill net underwater. One end of the gill net has floats, the other sinkers, so the idea is to float the gill net in the water column and the fish will try to swim by and get caught in the net and twist all around getting more and more caught up.

56,7°C (134.06°F) World's Hottest Inhabited Place: Death Valley, United States.
???????? Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California, United States. It holds the record for the highest reliably reported air temperature in the world, 101.9 Fahrenheit degrees (56.7 Celsius degrees). Also the record for the hottest ground surface temperature ever recorded on earth, 201.0 Fahrenheit degrees (93.9 Celsius degrees), which is the only recorded surface temperature of above 200 Fahrenheit degrees (93.3 Celsius degrees).
The biggest factor behind Death Valley's extreme heat is its elevation. Parts of it are below sea level. Also, a major set of mountains block moisture from the Pacific from reaching the basin. The valley is narrow, which means that the air is trapped from circulating in or out. There's also little vegetation to absorb the sun's rays. Winter temperatures, however, can actually get quite cold because the desert does not retain heat when the surrounding air cools off.
Death Valley is home to the Timbisha tribe of Native Americans who have inhabited the valley for at least the past millennium. The most populated area is the Shoshone town of Timbisha. It has a population of 24. The valley received its name in 1849 during the California Gold Rush. It was called Death Valley by prospectors and others who sought to cross the valley on their way to the gold fields, after 13 pioneers perished from one early expedition of wagon trains.
In spite of the overwhelming heat and sparse rainfall, Death Valley exhibits considerable biodiversity. Wildflowers, watered by snowmelt, carpet the desert floor each spring, continuing into June. Coyotes, ravens, roadrunners, lizards, bighorn sheep, red-tailed hawks, and wild burros may be seen.
There are also anomalies in the valley, like the Racetrack Playa lake, where rocks seemingly slide across sand under their own power.

These ancient American relics remain unexplained.
A centuries-old stone wall, stretching for miles; enormous pictures scratched into the ground of a desert; rocks arranged in a circle. You know what these landmarks are, right?
Guess again. Instead of the Great Wall of China or Stonehenge, these are all ancient American ruins and landmarks. There's A Poop Crisis At The Border (HBO)
I'm starting to smell it Baron Partlow yelled into the estuary that sits between Tijuana and Imperial Beach, a small coastal town in southern California. He was wearing a black shirt with the words Stop the Poop in large white letters, high top boots, and plastic gloves, and carrying a respirator.
After a few seconds, he turned to the woman following him around with iPhone and asked if she was smelling it too. She was wearing Nikes.
Partlow, who documents the wastewater that flows from Mexico the United States and then posts the videos to the Stop the Poop page on Facebook, is on the fringe of a very real and serious movement. While the federal government obsesses about the so-called emergency at the border, Imperial Beach are trying to get people to care about a crisis that has nothing to do with migrants.
Every year, the Tijuana River carries millions of gallons of water over the border, bringing trash, chemicals, and poop along for the ride. The problem has gotten so bad that the beaches just north of Mexico are rarely ever open.
VICE News traveled to Imperial Beach, where the town meets regularly to talk about their stinky problem, to see how bad it could possibly be.

River Patrol (Restored Color) US Navy Mekong Delta Operations 1967
The labyrinthine Delta was a hot zone in the war against well organized Viet Cong insurgents, immortalized by the film Apocalypse Now. This beautifully photographed film is the real thing -- a slice of life documentary showing daily operations aboard the Harnett County and on river patrols by air & water. The USS Harnett County (LST-821) served as a floating base in the China Sea for PBR and helicopter patrol operations in the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War. Highly recommended!
Get this video and much more on our new The US Navy in Vietnam DVD I spent quite a bit of time restoring the color in this US Navy film and am very pleased with the result.

Tours By Isabelle San Francisco Plantation & Houmas House
(504)-398-0365
The San Francisco Plantation House is located on the north bank of the Mississippi River, separated from the river by Louisiana Highway 44 and a levee. The house stands on about 8 acres (3.2 ha) of land.
It is a 1-1/2 story structure, set on a full-height basement. The basement has a brick floor, reportedly 6 feet (1.8 m) deep.
The house is traditionally ascribed a construction date of 1849–50 and has been restored to an 1850s appearance.
It was built for Edmond Marmillion, and its name is alternatively said to derive either from the city of San Francisco, then celebrated as a destination for the California Gold Rush, or from a corruption of the French phrase son saint-frusquin, meaning the shirt off his back, an assessment of what it cost Marmillion to build the house.
The Houmas plantation had its beginnings when Alexander Latil and Maurice Conway appropriated all of the Houma tribe's land on the east side of the Mississippi River in 1774. Alexander Latil built a French Colonial style plantation house at the site around 1775. It was a working sugarcane plantation by 1803, when the United States obtained the area through the Louisiana Purchase.
Shortly afterwards The Houmas was purchased by Daniel Clark, who began to develop the property and built one of the first sugar mills along this stretch of the river. In June 1807, Clark and territorial Governor William C. C. Claiborne fought a duel on the property, in which Claiborne sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
The house and what was left of the property was finally purchased by Dr. George B. Crozat in 1940. Crozat began an ambitious program of restoration of the house and gardens. The house and grounds remained in that family until it passed to a new owner, Kevin Kelly, in 2003.
Hwy 1 Chumash and Salinan early cultures of San Luis Obispo County
The Chumash are a Native American people who historically inhabited the central and southern coastal regions of California, in portions of what is now San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties, extending from Morro Bay in the north to Malibu in the south. They also occupied three of the Channel Islands: Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and San Miguel; the smaller island of Anacapa was likely inhabited seasonally due to the lack of a consistent water source.
Modern place names with Chumash origins include Cayucos, Malibu, Nipomo, Lompoc, Ojai, Pismo Beach, Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, Piru, Lake Castaic, Saticoy, Simi Valley and Somis.
The Salinan are a Native American tribe whose ancestral territory is in the southern Salinas Valley and the Santa Lucia Range in the Central Coast of California. Today, the Salinan governments are now working toward federal tribal recognition from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Map of traditional Salinan distribution and settlements
There were two major divisions, the Miguelino in the south, on the upper course of the Salinas River (which flows south to north), and the Antoniano in the north, in the lower part of the Salinas Basin, corresponding to the two missions in the Salinas Valley (Mission San Antonio de Padua and Mission San Miguel Arcángel).
There were also a Playano group on the Pacific Coast in the vicinity of what is now San Simeon and Lucia. Before European contact, Salinans lived by hunting and gathering and, like most other California tribes, were organized in small groups with little centralized political structure.
Archaeological research demonstrates that the Chumash have deep roots in the Santa Barbara Channel area and lived along the southern California coast for millennia.
California city returns island taken from native tribe in 1860 massacre
U.S. News - California city returns island taken from native tribe in 1860 massacre.
#USNEWS - Indian Island off the coast of Northern California was the site of a massacre, a place that was contaminated by a shipyard and flush with invasive species.
It’s also the spiritual and physical center of the universe for the small Wiyot tribe, and it will belong to them almost entirely Monday after a city deeds all the land it owns on the island to the tribe.
“It’s a really good example of resilience because Wiyot people never gave up the dream,” tribal administrator Michelle Vassel said. “It’s a really good story about healing and about coming together of community.”
The tribe was decimated in 1860, when scores of elders, women and children were wiped out during a raid by settlers while the tribe’s men were away gathering supplies. Since then, the now 600-member tribe has been making small strides toward regaining the land it lost.
