The archives collections relate to the interesting Maritime & Pioneer history of Digby town and Digby County, its people and industries. Researchers can access family history files and publications, genealogies and charts for over 4,000 Digby County families; journals, diaries; scrapbooks; Church registers for Trinity Anglican (Digby), St. Patrick's Anglican (Weymouth): late 18thC-early 19th C cemetery inscriptions; funeral home records; township books; census records: 1838, 1861-1901 (indexed); library of local history; county municipal records; land grants, petitions, Botsford & Hatfield land grant maps; deeds; probate records; school records; and local newspapers such as the Digby Courier 1877-1978 among others.
Housed in a mid 1800s Georgian home, the museum presents period rooms containing artifacts, costumes and artwork, including the 1854 Gilpin water colour sketches of Sable Island, now featured in a coffee-table book published in April 2005.
