The UOC KP declared the Constantinople Church is not a Mother Church for them
The Constantinople Patriarchate “betrayed Ukrainians” and “sold the Ukrainian Church” to Moscow; therefore, it cannot claim to be called Mother Church. Such opinion was expressed on September 11 by vicar of Volyn diocese of the Kiev Patriarchate, bishop of Vladimir and Volyn Mathew (Shevchuk).
A peculiar interpretation of relationships between Kiev, Moscow and Constantinople was voiced by the vicar after the end of the church foundation rite and setting up of the cross in village Rudka-Kozinskaya of Rozhishche district of Volyn district.
“There is a Roman Church that also captivates the souls of Ukrainians. It is famous for its affluence and glory, stated Mathew (Shevchuk). – There are also the Greek who manipulate and say, “We are a Mother Church”. Not really. For the Mother Church would never abandon her children for the lavish money and zibeline furs – whatever gifts she might be offered. What mother will disavow and sell her child, furthermore, to the Moscow slavery? The Greek Church did. And now they say, “We are a Mother Church”. No. Our mother is our land.” Earlier another representative of the Kiev Patriarchate became notable for his not less vivid utterances – Metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn Mihail (Zinkevich) – who beatified the UPA fighters.

Chernihiv is an ancient Slavonic city on the right bank of the Desna river. In the 9th century, the settlement was the center of eastern Slavonic tribe of the Northerners. At the end of the 9th century, it joined the Kievan Rus state. It was first time mentioned in chronicles in 904.
Trinity Cathedral (1679-1695). Stunning architecture (the Ukrainian Baroque style). The bell tower (58 meters) is open to visitors - the best view of Chernihiv. Tolstoy Street, 92.
Elias Monastery (Anthony Caves). The ancient shrine of Chernihiv. The first cave church and the monastery were founded in 1069. Through Elijah church (the 12th century.) you can get into the caves.
Transfiguration Cathedral. One of the oldest Christian churches in the territory of Ukraine, a unique example of ancient architecture.

History of Lubarts Castle
The Kievan town of Luchesk had a wooden wall as early as 1075, when Boleslaus the Bold laid siege to it for six months. Yury Dolgoruky failed to take Lutsk after a six-weeks siege in 1149. In 1255, the walls of Lutsk were stormed by Khan Jochi's grandson Kuremsa.
The current castle, towering over the Styr River, was built mostly in the 1340s, although some parts of the earlier walls were used. It repelled sieges by numerous potentates, including Casimir the Great (1349), Jogaila (1431), and Sigismund Kęstutaitis (1436). It was there that the Lutsk Conference of 1429 took place, attended by Emperor Sigismund, Vasily II of Moscow, Jogaila, Vytautas the Great, and the voivode of Wallachia.
During the long reign of Vytautas, Lutsk Castle was further fortified to guard against artillery and gunfire. The principal entrance, now bricked in, was from the west and adjoined a bridge over outer moat. Three main towers, now named Lubart, Švitrigaila (both after Lithuanian princes) and the Bishop, were built up in the course of the 16th and 17th centuries.
The walls of the castle formerly enclosed St. John's Cathedral, the residence of the Grand Duke of Lithuania, and an episcopal palace. Of these buildings, only the Neoclassical palace of the bishops still stands.
On 2 July 1941 1,160 Jews were murdered within the walls of the castle.[1] There is no monument or marker for this tragedy in the castle.
