Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is dedicated to god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of god Shiva's marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue and is thus a popular pilgrimage centre. A special feature of this temple is a perpetual fire, that burns in front of the temple. The flame is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage. Thus, the temple is also known as Akhand Dhuni temple.
The temple courtyard is also the source of a water stream, which fills four sacred bathing ponds (kunds) nearby.
he Triguninarayan village is located at an altitude of 1,980 metres (6,500 ft) about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from Sonprayag, the confluence of Mandakini and Songanga rivers. The geographical belt is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from Sonprayag that extends to 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) between Triyugninarayan and Toshi villages with an average altitude of 2,200 metres (7,200 ft) that has favourable agro-climatic conditions for growing horticultural crops such as apple and stone fruits. During the three winter months, the area is covered by snow.

On this day we started our journey from Shri Triyuginarayan Temple and did our night stay at Chopta. This place is also called as Mini Switzerland.
Summary of places visited by us is given below:
Shri Triyuginarayan Temple located at height of 1980 meter, located at Rudraprayag district: This temple is famous for 2 reasons:
Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati got married at this place.
A perpetual fire burns in front of temple since Lord Shva’s marriage at this place. It is believed that in earlier times- fire used to burn by chanting of Mantra’s but now it happens through wood fire.
Villagers do this task as a duty and have kept the fire alive.

Dhaba at Triyuginarayan: This Dhaba does not have any name, but its located at distance of hardly 50 meter from Shri Triyuginarayan temple.
It is a small place, in all there are about 10 to 15 dhabas in this area but just by looking at it in the video one can recognize this place.
Following is the food we had at this Dhaba in breakfast.
Bethu Ki Sabji: Called as Bhathu in plains.
Koda-Marscha Ki Roti: Koda is finger millet, Marscha is Chaulai seeds, is called Amaranth in english…
Marscha Ki Roti: This roti had only ground chaulai dana, no other flour was mixed. This is consumed in winters only.

Chandrika Camp Chopta: There are many camps on this route, you will not see any with permanent structure because this area comes under forest. Permanent structure for guest houses are not allowed.
We took halt when we are 5km away from Chopta, it was a nice place. Services at this particular camp were average, when you travel there in peak season you will notice that its hard to find a camp, most of them are booked in advance.

Trigi Narayana Temple located in Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand. The journey here is considered to be very sacred. It is believed that Lord Shiva had married this place with Mother Parvati in Satyug, and you would be surprised to know that even today, the flame is being lit by this havan kund, which he married as a witness. Trigi Narayan temple is considered to be quite famous. This temple looks very beautiful among the litigants of Uttarakhand.
This temple binds a parallel to them for the passengers coming in between the greenery around them. Its beauty gives the eyes very cool. It is said that the ash coming out of this havan kund makes the married life of devotees happy.
King Himalaya used to live in Kankhal near Haridwar. Where Mata Parvati was born. Because she was a mountain daughter, she was named Parvati. As soon as Mother Parvati grew up, she was married to Shiva at this place. The place where we know today as Trigi Narayana Temple. Because according to mythological beliefs, Vishnu was made to witness this marriage. Therefore, there is also a temple of Vishnu, which is worshiped by people with great reverence.
By the way, you will find many paths to go to this temple. But you will get two ways to go to Gaurikund. When you go to Guptkashi 6 km from Gaurikund, Sonprayag comes in there. From here you can also go to Triogi Narayan temple, from there you will find Triogi Temple 12 to 13 kilometers away. If you do not want to go from here, there is another way that goes on foot.
If you want to walk, you will have to walk only 6 to 7 kilometers. First of all, you have to go to Sonprayag. From here you will go to the 100 meter Gaurikund. There you will find an iron bridge. Before that bridge you will find an anonymous pathway. Which will appear moving upwards.

The Triyuginarayan temple resembles the temple of Kedarnath in architectural style. It is believed that Shiva and Parvati got married at this temple in the presence of other Gods.

From Kedarnath, the distance is about 25 kilometers by bridle path.
Himalayan range peaks Kedarnath and Chaukhamba are visible from the village.
Ponies, cows, sheep and wood collection are integral part of the village life.
