We took a 2 hour guided city walking tour of Trondheim, Norway. The tour is given by the Tourist Information Office and shows you all of the major sites in town. Shot in June 2017.
A short visit to Trondheim (Norway/Norge)
(EN) Trondheim historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem, is a city and municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It has a population of 187,353 and is the third most populous municipality in Norway, although the fourth largest urban area. It is the third largest city in the country, with a populationof 169,972 inhabitants within the city borders.The city functions as the administrative centre of Sør-Trøndelag county. Trondheim lies on the south shore of Trondheim Fjord at the mouth of the river Nidelva. The city is dominated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research (SINTEF), St. Olavs University Hospital and other technology-oriented institutions.
The settlement was founded in 997 as a trading post, and it served as the capital of Norway during the Viking Age until 1217. From 1152 to 1537, the city was the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nidaros; since then, it has remained the seat of the Lutheran Diocese of Nidaros and the Nidaros Cathedral. It was incorporated in 1838. The current municipality dates from 1964, when Trondheim merged with Byneset, Leinstrand, Strinda and Tiller. (Wikipedia)

Norway is an incredible country filled with natural beauty at every turn. But for most visitors, they stay further south in some of the well-known places like Oslo. Today I'll tell you about a fantastic city located up in Central Norway - Trondheim. It may not be as big as some of the other cities, but it has a lot packed in!
It's downtown area is nearly surrounded by water, with Trondheim Fjord on one side and the Nidelva River snaking around the other sides. You can see some amazing tourist sites like Nidaros Cathedral (and it's central tower), the Archbishop's Palace (and it's museum), the Norwegian Crown Regalia, Stiftsgården (Trondheim Royal Palace), the Church of Our Lady, Kristiansten Fortress, the Old Town Bridge (Gamle Bybro), the Gate of Happiness, the Historic Wharves, Bakklandet, Nordre Gate, the King Olav Tryggvason statue, and more! There are also so many fantastic ways to experience the natural beauty, like taking a boat tour in the fjord or taking a hike along Lade trail. And guess what? Because it is so far north, in summer it almost never gets fully dark! So much great stuff to do, and even some great traditional Central Norwegian foods, like Sodd.

A QUICK VISIT IN TRONDHEIM, NORWAY WITH M/S TROLLFJORD: April 2019. y
Trondheim is one of my favorite stops on the Hurtigruten cruise in Norway.
Trondheim is the third largest city in the country, after Oslo and Bergen.
It is a city on the Trondheim Fjord in central Norway.
A picturesque city. The harbor is beautiful with its line of colourful houses.
Trondheim center is only a short walk from where the Hurtiguten cruise ship boat is docking.
From the harbor we continued walking to south from the city centre until we reached the Trondheim’s most famous site, Nidarosdom Cathedral!
and I used the opportunity to capture the city’s historical bldg.
