Trowbridge is the county town of Wiltshire, England on the River Biss in the west of the county, 8 miles south east of Bath, Somerset, from which it is separated by the Mendip Hills, which rise 3 miles to the west.
Long a market town, the Kennet and Avon canal runs to the north of Trowbridge and played an instrumental part in the town's development as it enabled coal to be transported from the Somerset Coalfield and so marked the advent of steam-powered manufacturing in woollen cloth mills. The town of Trowbridge was foremost producer of this mainstay of contemporary clothing and blankets in south west England in the late 18th and early 19th centuries by which time it held the nickname The Manchester of the West.
The parish encompasses the settlements of Longfield, Lower Studley, Upper Studley, Studley Green and Trowle Common. Adjacent parishes include Staverton, Hilperton, West Ashton, North Bradley, Southwick and Wingfield; nearby towns are Bradford on Avon, Westbury, Melksham, Frome and Devizes.
There is much of architectural interest in Trowbridge, including many of the old buildings associated with the textile industry, and the Newtown conservation area, a protected zone of mostly Victorian houses. The town has six Grade I listed buildings, being St James' Church, Lovemead House and numbers 46, 64, 68 and 70, Fore Street.
Trowbridge railway station was opened in 1848 on the Westbury–Bradford-on-Avon section of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway. Today this line forms part of both the Wessex Main Line (Bristol–Westbury–Southampton) and the Heart of Wessex Line (Bristol–Westbury–Weymouth), while the original route to Melksham, Chippenham and Swindon is used by the TransWilts service. Other services from Trowbridge join the Great Western main line at Bath and Chippenham, or join the Reading to Taunton line at Westbury.
Trowbridge is about 18 miles (29 km) from junction 18 of the M4 motorway (Bath) and the same distance from junction 17 (Chippenham). The A361 runs through the town, connecting it to Swindon to the north-east and Barnstaple to the south-west, while the north-south A350 primary route to Poole passes close to the town.
Within Trowbridge Castle was a 10th-century Anglo-Saxon church. Henry de Bohun turned this to secular use and instead had a new church built outside the Castle; this was the first St James' Church. In the base of the tower of the present day church, below the subsequently added spire, can be seen the Romanesque architecture of the period.

Trowbridge Town Castle Place Car Park - Disgusting 19 May 2019 at 11_43
This multi-storey car park located in Trowbridge Wiltshire adjacent to St Stephens Place Trowbridge is owned and run by the Wiltshire County Council. Just look at the foul, disgusting, unhygienic, graffiti smeared, urinated state of the stairwells compete with rough sleeper.
Wiltshire County Council, Trowbridge Town Council please show some sense of responsibility and clean the place up as this public facility as is bordering on being a health hazard. No wonder the town center has failed with facilities like. This is not the only reason but this does not help.
Wiltshire Council and County & Town Councillors you should be ashamed of yourselves for not taking action sooner. It is not surprising that people have a very poor impression of what is supposed to be the County Town of Wiltshire.
Councillors do you walk around with eyes closed at times. This place is so filthy I can smell it 20 paces away.
This video will be available to all WCC & Trowbridge Town Councillors so lets see how long it takes before they clean it up.
You know when you have a good town and that is when you see Chinese Tourists and in Trowbridge you would never see one, that is unless they have lost their way!
Update 26/05/19
I have been advised by a WCC Councillor writing on behalf of the council leader that WCC officers visited the site and agreed there was a stench of urine & vomit and will advise their contractors to pressure was the place on Tuesday. I will be watching with interest as to the end result.
The questions for me are;
1. Did any councilors bother to see for themselves it’s disgusting condition that should be an embarrassment to the Council?
2. Why does it take a member of the public to bring the issue to your attention and why does it take members of the public to bring so many things to the attention of WCC before action is taken?
3. When was the last time it was cleaned properly?
4. How often is it checked for cleanliness?
5. What do you propose to do with ensuring it remains clean?
6. How often will it be cleaned?
7. Who is responsible for ensuring the place is clean.

I visited Burnley and Trowbridge!
This isn't a sponsored post! I just really love Burnley and Trowbridge and had the opportunity to pick up and order while I was visiting Williamsburg, VA. Angela was kind enough to give me a tour of their shop warehouse.
Burnley and Trowbridge specializes in fabrics and notions for the 18th Century costume maker, however much of their stuff crosses many eras!

These individuals are in these clips.
THE HAUNTED TROWBRIDGE
Allegedly kids would spray paint there names on the wall or make some sort of sign they where there before they would jump off the 100ft bridge on to the train tracks to be dismembered by the train.
