A visit to the Trowunna Wildlife Park, Tasmania, Australia
We visited the Trowunna Wildlife Park in Tasmania, Australia, as part of a shore excursion from the Holland America Line ship MS Volendam. It was an entertaining and educational visit. Be warned, however, this video does show Tasmanian Devil's eating their lunch and it is not a pretty sight! You can learn more about the park at:

Tasmanian Devil at Trowunna Wildlife Park and Androo Kelly
Here is Androo Kelly, the Managing Director of Trowunna - info from Trowunna Wildlife park website
If someone like Androo Kelly had of been around early last century the precious Tasmanian Thylacine's might of been saved from extinction. Androo is one of the few people who has a genuine understanding of how devils live, why they're so difficult to breed and how staggeringly well they get along with people. Known as the 'Devil Whisperer', Androo Kelly is the man behind the Trowunna Sanctuary at Mole Creek. Trowunna Wildlife Park has over 200 animals across 28 species and occupies 35 to 40 acres with a 20-acre buffer zone of lush native forest on either side. Androo Kelly has been involved in the production of over 25 nature-based documentaries, one of which attracted major, international awards. These include documentaries such as; Devil Diary, The Oldest Living Tasmanian, Land of the Devils and many more. Androo is also the Captive Wildlife industry's spokesman on the Tasmanian Government's steering committee to try and understand the facial tumour disease that has appeared in the state's Tasmanian devil population during the past few years. Androo sees Trowunna as a 'giant classroom' and a place of 'living education' where his unconditional love of the wildlife has created a very personal experience for visitors to Trowunna. The greatest pleasure is to see people leave here really happy,' Kelly says

Devil den guarding | Trowunna Wildlife Park
The 2017 devil-breeding season has begun and you will have plenty of opportunity to watch the different natural behavior displayed by our reproductive devils. One of our keepers took a video of a male devil guarding a female in her den. A litter of joeys can be sired by multiple male devils, so the male tries to scare off competitors and keep the female in the den, so no other male devil can mate with her.

Tasmanian Wildlife Park & Koala Village (Australian ad) 1984
Tasmanian Wildlife Park & Koala Village commercial from 1984 transferred from Betamax videocassette. This park is now named Trowunna Wildlife Park. I use to live down the road from this wildlife park when I was a kid living near Mole Creek in Tassie. I recall going visiting this wildlife park once or twice and I have a photo somewhere of me holding a wombat lol.

mole narration
My team and I were lucky to stumble upon this family of savanah elephants bathing in a watering hole at the Mole National Park in Ghana. The park is located in the Northern Region of Ghana and is about a 2 hour drive from the capital Tamale. The park is about 4840km² of savannah and is home to over 80 species of mammals, including elephant and antelopes. It is also home to crocodiles, birds and monkeys.
The Tasmanian Wildlife Park & Koala Village (Australian ad) 1987
The Tasmanian Wildlife Park & Koala Village commercial from 1987 transferred from beta tape. This park was pretty much up the road from where I lived in Tassie as a kid on the outskirts of Mole Creek and I remember going there as a kid :). If my memory is correct, I think this park was owned by the parents of one my classmates name Clarke. Anyways great to come across this commercial!!! :D The Tasmanian Wildlife Park is now called Trowunna Wildlife Park and you can visit the official website here .

Three young wombats at the Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary in Mole Creek, Tasmania. All three were orphaned (mommas roadkilled) and arrived at Trowunna around the same time, so they are being raised together. The guide is talking about the eagles and other big birds that are being sheltered at Trowunna. See my other videos for more with Wombat Liz, mealtime for the tassie devils, the baby devils, Nevil the handsome devil, and the kangaroos.
