Former Pres. Jimmy Carter calls President Trump an Illegitimate President (C-SPAN)
Former President Jimmy Carter said today that If fully investigated, it would show that Trump didn't actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election and he was put in office because the Russians interfered ...on his behalf.
When pressed by historian Jon Meacham if that meant President Trump was illegitimate, President Carter responded, Based on what I just said that I can't retract …

Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans and people of the world, thank you.
We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people.
Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come. We will face challenges, we will confront hardships, but we will get the job done.
Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent. Thank you.
Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.
For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.
That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment, it belongs to you.
It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.
January 20th, 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.
The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.
Everyone is listening to you now. You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before.
At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction, that a nation exists to serve its citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.
But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge; and the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.
This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.
We are one nation and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams. And their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.
For many decades, we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry; subsidized the armies of other countries, while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military. We’ve defended other nations’ borders while refusing to defend our own.
And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America’s infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay. We’ve made other countries rich, while the wealth, strength and confidence of our country has dissipated over the horizon.
One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind. The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.
But that is the past. And now, we are looking only to the future.
We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first, America first.
DONALD TRUMP AN AMERICAN HERO COMES TO AMERICA'S RESCUE
With great skill Donald Trump is rising above his astounded challengers. He is establishing himself before our eyes as the great Maximus who is preparing to take the reins of power of the world's greatest super power. Something is happening that hasn't for generations -- a revolution. While his competitors talk and point to past 'achievements' Trump goes beyond that demonstrating his power with great ease. The skillful counter puncher is able to fend off attacks that normally bring the most skilled politician to his knees. The party bosses are bewildered, amazed and fearful. A former President and his mother joined the fray but no one cared to listen. The current President frightened took desperate shots at Trump but missed. The Vatican Pope leader of millions swung but missed and has apologized. Even two former Mexican Presidents funded by Mexican drug cartels shudder and curse at his name. Degenerate thugs and SOCIALIST lackeys fail to shut down his rallies. Trump smiles in their faces and asks for more challenges so he can demonstrate his power and determination. With every new day with increasing frequency he causes new challenges to appear. Trump roars BRING IT ON. He is one of a kind the new AMERICAN HERO is coming to take his office. History is on his side. He will not be denied.

John Kelly Bashes Report He Called Trump An 'Idiot'
On Monday, White House chief of staff John Kelly personally denied calling President Donald Trump an idiot in response to a report from NBC News. In a statement Kelly said, I spend more time with the President than anyone else and we have an incredibly candid and strong relationship. He always knows where I stand and he and I both know this story is total BS. Kelly then added, I am committed to the President, his agenda, and our country. This is another pathetic attempt to smear people close to President Trump and distract from the administration's many successes. The NBC report comes as tensions between Kelly and Trump have been brewing for weeks if not months.

The Predatory Mindset of Donald Trump: An Interview With Eve Ensler & Christine Schuler Deschryver
- Today is V-Day, a global day of action to end violence against women and girls. We speak to V-Day founder Eve Ensler and Congolese activist Christine Schuler Deschryver about V-Day, conflict minerals, the City of Joy as well as Donald Trump and the other domestic abusers in the White House. We haven’t really gotten to the root of rape culture in America, Ensler said. But I also think that predatory mindset is affecting everything. Right? We’re gutting regulations on air, on water and on the earth. We’re escalating extraction. We’re seeing the ransacking of laws, a disparaging of immigrants.

Carter talks Trump, China and leadership at church
(9 Jun 2019) Former President Jimmy Carter is back to teaching Sunday school in Georgia after taking time off to undergo surgery for a broken hip.
Speaking to attendees at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Carter shared a recent conversation he had with President Donald Trump.
Carter said Trump voiced concerns about China becoming a superpower, and had suggested that the Chinese were getting way ahead of the United States.
The exchange prompted Carter to ask the congregation what the word 'superpower' means.
It's not just who has the most powerful military, but who is a champion of the finer things in life, Carter said.
He concluded by adding that peace, environment, human rights and equality are the teachings of Jesus Christ, and that these are things all Christians should believe in.
Carter, who's 94, broke his hip last month when he fell at home while leaving to go turkey hunting.
He subsequently had hip replacement surgery.
The former first lady was also hospitalized around the same time for what Carter said was initially thought to be a stroke, but turned out to be less serious.
A devout Christian, Carter regularly teaches Sunday school in Plains.

Philip Short - As Others See Us: America in the Age of Trump
As Others See Us: America in the Age of Trump
Given by Philip Short, Author, BBC Correspondent, Magro Family Distinguished Fellow in International Affairs, Dartmouth
Is Donald Trump an aberration? Or a symbol of changes which the United States and the rest of the world will be living with for decades to come? America’s strengths stem in part from the way its allies and its adversaries perceive its role. Four decades after Ronald Reagan proclaimed America to be ‘a shining city on the hill,' American exceptionalism is being questioned as never before. Philip Short, a long-time BBC foreign correspondent, now Magro Family Distinguished Fellow in International Affairs at the Dickey Center, offers a European perspective on the wrenching transformations America is undergoing today.
Mr. Short worked for the BBC for 30 years as a foreign correspondent, initially in central Africa and then in Moscow, Beijing, Paris, Tokyo and Washington. In 1997, he spent a year teaching comparative politics at the University of Iowa. He now lives with his wife and daughter in southern France. His first book, A life of the Malawi leader, Hastings Banda, was published in 1974. The Dragon and the Bear, a comparison between China after Mao and the Soviet Union after Stalin followed in 1982. His biography of Mao Zedong was published in the United States in 2000 and has been widely regarded as the definitive account of the life of the Chinese leader. A revised edition incorporating new archival material, Mao: The Man Who Made China, was published in London in 2017. He has also published a biography of the Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot, and a life of the French President, François Mitterrand.
