Shinsekai Food Street + How to Go to Tsutenkaku from Shinimamiya Station #182
In this video, I introduce Shinsekai Food street (Tsutenkaku Street), plus how to get there from JR Shinimamiya station, and Osaka metro Dobutsuen mae station (Midosuji line, and Sakaisuji line)
Shinsekai food street is not as popular as Dotonbori, but there are so many restaurant and amusement stores.
Also, it is walking distance from Namba station (about 20 min walking), so if you visit Dotonbori, and Denden town, make sure visit this place as well!!

This time we visited the center of Osaka, Tsutenaku Tower! Tsutenkaku was build in 1912 at first, burned down once, and rebuild in 1956. The tower was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Can you feel the history of Osaka? Enjoy!

I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last video - I have been quite sick and very busy at the end of the year with work and personal stuff.
However, I had the chance this weekend and really wanted to film and upload something!
This is just a walk around video of one of my favourite areas in Osaka - Tennoji (and somewhat Shin-Imamiya too!). I feel like there’s always something going on here, and it’s a great place to spend any free time you happen to have. You definitely won’t get bored! I recommend a visit if you're ever in Osaka with a few hours to spare.
I also decided to go up the Tsutenkaku Tower for the first time, and it was amazing! The view from the top is fantastic, but the inside of the rest of the building is really interesting too - it has a museum-type thing about the area, as well as a lot of adorable gift stores.

OSAKA CASTLE & OSAKA CASTLE PARK????
Osaka Castle is a popular tourist spot and a striking historical landmark in the middle of a modern urban cityscape of high-rise concrete blocks. The castle stands in an expansive lawn covered park and consists of a complex network of moats, turrets, and walls surrounding a massive central tower. Thirteen of the structures around the main tower are designated as Important Cultural Assets by the national government. The main central tower is 55 meters high and houses a museum and a viewing platform from which visitors can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Osaka city.
Osaka Castle was first built between 1583 and 1585 by the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi who ruled over Japan at that time. During Hideysohi’s lifetime the castle was constantly enlarged and improved and the town of Osaka grew with it becoming an important center of trade and politics. Much of the castle was destroyed in the wars of the early 17th century, rebuilt again in 1620, and then lost again to a fire caused by a lightning strike in 1665.
The current castle tower that we see today is a reconstruction completed in 1931. This building survived the bombing raids of World War 2, but did suffer some damage, and was again badly damaged by a typhoon in 1950. Happily the castle was completely renovated in 1997, with fresh white plaster on the walls, new tiles on the roof, restored ornaments, and gold leaf decoration. Today it stands in the midst of modern Osaka as a stunningly beautiful symbol of the city’s pride in its past.
Inside the castle is a museum with eight floors of displays related to the castle’s history. There are historical artifacts, colorful screen painting, samurai costumes that you can try on for a fee, and a scale model of the original 16th century castle town.

Tsutenkaku Tower also known as the eiffel tower of Osaka. In the 5th floor there is an observatory with a view of Osaka and statue of Billiken-san, a God that is said to bring good luck to those who stroke the bottom of it's feet

Shinsekai is a colorful area to the west of Tennoji Park packed with cheap shops and eateries and best known for its iconic Tsutenkaku Tower.
Shinsekai was designed as an entertainment district in the early 20th century, and originally modelled after the cities of New York and Paris. Opened in 1912, “Shinsekai” literally means “New World” and because of its modern image the area quickly became a popular tourist attraction.
