If anyone might be thinking they want to get into bees, Bob would be terrific to learn from. Maybe it's just the nature of the lifelong beekeeper to be calm & cool (and funny) - Bob and Dana are all those things.
I shot the video, -and wish I had a picture of me taking the pictures in the Bee Suit - recorded & edited the sound and edited the video in iMovie9. Thanks to my friend Neil McCann again for the great music and always grateful that my buddy Tim Smith helps rescue my voice recordings.

Beekeeper's re-launch Babe's Honey Farm
We are proud to announce the opening of our new store. Babe's Honey Farm is back!
babes-honey-farm.com
facebook.com/babeshoneyfarm
Babe's Honey Farm was founded in 1945 by Babe & Charlie Warren with a small loan from a credit union and single beehive Charlie found in the forest. They spent their lives building Western Canada's favorite bee farm and provided Vancouver Island with local honey for over 60 years.
Babe passed in 2006, three years after Charlie, and Babe's Honey Farm was sold to a local businessman and a handful of investors. In January of 2011, Babe's Honey went into receivership and it's assets went up for auction on June 29th 2011.
But that's not the whole story. The former employees attended the auction and with the support of their family and some close friends they bought the Babe's Honey name, the bees, the trucks, and enough equipment to manage 1000 honey bee colonies were determined to re-establish the business.
After months of working behind the scenes, we had re-organized our operation and were ready to re-launch Babe's Honey Farm. We are now located at Galey's Farm on Blenkinsop Rd and look forward to seeing you all there soon.

Sooke BSCEA/Dogwood Candidates Debate
The Green Party’s Frances Litman, Liberal David Merner and New Democratic Party incumbent Randall Garrison are confirmed for Wednesday night’s Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke climate-change debate at Edward Milne Community School starting at 6:30 p.m. Conservative candidate Shari Lukens has declined an invitation to participate.
Forever Blankets and BearsIn her role as moderator, Sooke Mayor Maja Tait will pose a set of questions prepared by the BC Sustainable Energy Association and the Dogwood Initiative, the evening’s two non-partisan organizers. Once these have been debated, Mayor Tait will invite queries from the audience. The prepared questions deal with sustainable energy, green jobs, the Enbridge and Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion proposals, the National Energy Board, Canada’s share of GHG emissions reductions, and the impact of today’s policies on future generations.
“We’re inviting candidates who have a realistic shot at representing the riding in the current first-past-the-post voting system,” explains Kai Nagata, the Dogwood Initiative’s Energy & Democracy Director. “Our criteria include their party currently holding seats in Ottawa and capturing more than one percent of the popular vote.”
The Sooke debate is hosted by Transition Sooke and Dogwood’s Sooke region team with the support of four local sustainable businesses: A Sea of Bloom Floral Design, Seaflora Seaweed Skincare, the Sooke Harbour House and Tugwell Creek Honey Farm & Meadery.
