150th Anniversary of the Ordination of Fr. James Cullen SJ.
Fr. James A Cullen SJ, founder of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association, was ordained in Carlow Cathedral 150 years ago on 28th October 1864 . Most Rev Dr Denis Nulty, Bishop of Kildare & Leighlin, celebrated Mass at 11am in Carlow Cathedral on Sunday 26th October, 2014 and Monsignor Kevin O'Neill conducted a tour of Carlow College, where Fr. Cullen studied for the priesthood from 1861 to 1864, for scores of visitors. Fr Cullen was able to mix with the visitors at this special event. Meet Fr. Cullen in this video.
