Tunupa Volcano
Tunupa is a dormant volcano in the Potosí Department of southwestern Bolivia. It stands on the northern side of the Salar de Uyuni at an elevation of 5,321 m on the Bolivian Altiplano. Tunupa is a volcano which was active in the Miocene to the Pleistocene. Later glaciers developed on the mountain. There is a cave with several mummies about half way up and an ancient village at the foot with a modest salt hotel.
