Alexander Turnbull's Library (1972)
A film is being made of the Library, and takes us through an ordinary day, showing us glimpses of the treasures - rare books, New Zealand and Pacific collection, manuscripts, and paintings - housed in the old brick building on Wellington's Bowen Street. We join the staff in their cataloguing, researching, and micro-filming, meet some of the people who use the Library, and discover something of its history. Finally we learn that the building is no longer safe, and is about to be moved from the path of a motorway, to the National Library of New Zealand.

5AA Australia - New Zealand's Dirty Politics Aftermath and Polls
5AA Australia: On this week's Across the Ditch bulletin on 5AA Australia, host Peter Godfrey and Selwyn Manning discuss the aftermath and implications of revelations that New Zealand's National-led Government has been involved in smear campaigns and sinister hits on their opponents.
ITEM 1:
More fallout from the revelations in the book Dirty Politics is in evidence with the Prime Minister John Key's credibility under question.
There has been much to suggest John Key has either lied to the public or has been so relaxed about keeping on top of his prime ministerial responsibilities that it smacks of incompetence.
And now the latest polls are out showing a decisive slump in support for the Nationals. Labour however has yet to gain any ground. The parties benefiting from PM John Key's demise are the Greens, the Conservatives, and New Zealand First!
Selwyn Manning says: For background material on this issue, here is an analysis piece that I wrote that provides an incite into this issue:
ITEM 2:
Also, after the Wallabies drew with the All Blacks in Sydney, effectively shutting the world champion side out of a record unbeaten 18 international Rugby tests... the All Blacks came back last Saturday at Auckland's Eden Park to win 51 to 20.
The draw showed everyone how the All Blacks can be beaten, and the trouncing of Australia showed everyone just how formidable this team can be when the ball goes its way.
South Africa's Springboks will be determined to knock the stuffing out of the All Blacks.
While here in NZ, all eyes are looking ahead to the Rugby World a cup next year.

Speaker Bishop rules hypocrites ok for the government but Tony Burke is being smart in using it.
24/03/15 You be the judge: is it one rule for the government and another for the opposition in question time?
Antrim House Wellington
Right in the heart of Wellington is Antrim House, a prominent landmark in what was once a predominantly residential central city street. Its historic significance arises from its origins as the home of successful businessman and founder of R Hannah & Co Ltd, Robert Hannah, his wife Hannah and their family. Antrim House (named after the county of Hannah's birth) was his last home, had all the latest conveniences including gas, electric light and bathrooms. It was designed in Italianate style by the firm of Thomas Turnbull & Son, which designed many other notable Wellington buildings. It has kauri panelling and staircase, stained glass windows (all different) and ornate ceilings by Wunderlich of Sydney. In the grounds are a stable block and conservatory. Since Robert's death in 1930, Antrim House has been home to many people - as private hotel, public service hostel for young men. In 1979 Antrim House was given to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, who use it as their headquarters. Though surrounded by high rise buildings, Antrim House still has its lawns and trees, an oasis of green in the city. The Hannah Room is available for hire for business meetings.

NZ Pm John Key - Post Cabinet Press Conference 15/2/16
The Prime Minister began the press conference by saying that Christchurch and its people were in his thoughts. He said that while the quakes on the 14th on February were clearly unsettling, “residents can take comfort” in how well Christchurch is being rebuilt.
Key answered many questions about his upcoming talks with Australian Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull. He stated that while the New Zealand offer to take 150 refugees from Australian camps within the 750 quota still stood, Australia had not yet said yes to that. Key said that he considered it the “sensible and compassionate thing to do” but that the ball was in Australia’s court. He said it was likely discussions would take place with Turnbull about the progress in Camp Taji in Iraq. Key said it is not his intention to send the New Zealand SAS into Iraq.
On Auckland Housing the Prime Minister was reluctant to discuss specifics of the debate around intensification. He stressed that the Unitary Plan was the Auckland Council’s rather than the National Party’s. Key dodged a question about whether he was disappointed in the opinions of some Auckland councilors. He said that he expected National MPS in Auckland to “listen to their constituents”.
Key outlined the progress of the Ultra Fast Broadband implementation and the Rural Broadband Initiative saying that the country is 60% of the way through the current upgrade.
Key spoke briefly about the confrontations at the 2016 Big Gay Out in Auckland and said that a “militant” minority had been an exception in a very positive day. The Prime Minister also said that “the TPP is not a gay and lesbian issue”.
