Turtuk: A paradise in Jammu and Kashmir India | The Travelizer
----------| ABOUT TURTUK JAMMU AND KASHMIR INDIA |----------
Turtuk is a village in the north-eastern part of Ladakh. It is the last village on India PoK border. It is sandwiched between Himalaya and Karakoram mountain ranges, on the banks of Shyok River. Turtuk was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area.
Though Turtuk is now politically in Ladakh province, but geographically, linguistically and culturally Turtuk is a part of the Baltistan region and is one among four such villages in India, the other three being Tyakshi, Chalunkha and Thang. It is predominantly a Muslim village and residents speak Balti language. Turtuk is the last outpost in India, after which Gilgit Baltistan begins.
The video shows my journey from Leh to Turtuk via Nubra Valley and my visits to some of the stunning places like India PoK Border, Turtuk Waterfall, Balti Heritage Site, Natural Cold Storage System and The Yabgo Palace.

Aerial view of two Himalayan paradises: Turtuk and Nako
(0:00 - 0:40) Along the Shyok river lies the northernmost village of India, Turtuk in J&K . This hidden gem is the last village on the northernmost part of India. Covered by dry cold deserted mountains on all the sides, the village is green and produces some of the best quality Apricots in India. Turtuk is also one of the gateways for Siachin Glacier.
(0:41 - 1:13) Another paradise in the district of Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh lying close to the Tibetan border. It lies in the restricted zone which requires Inner Line Permit(ILP) to travel through. Nako Lake is a secluded reservoir which can charm anyone with its pristine natural beauty and cultural innocence. The lake is considered spiritual by the locals. There lies a waterfall near the lake which is difficult to find as its trail is not marked and hidden between the trees.

Hello welcome to Another one
I am in love with this palce Leh Ladakh,
Leh Ladakh Road Trip, Nubra Valley to Turtuk Thang and Tyakshi Village which is Last village of INDIA
Day 3
After a Night stay in Hundar (Nubra) we are now on our way to TurTuk Village
Turtuk Thang and Tyakshi is a village (Last village of India) in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir
Nubra To TurTuk is around 4 h 48 min Drive (163.5 km) via Diskit
It is located in the Nubra tehsil, 205 km from the Leh town, on the banks of the Shyok River. Turtuk is a small beautiful Muslim village. It is the last outpost in India after which Pakistan-controlled Gilgot-Balistan begins.
Turtuk was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area.
Turtuk is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier.
Turtuk was opened to tourists in 2009. The village offers views of Beautiful Valley, part of the Shyok Valley stay in this serene beauty, and we received so much of warm hospitality from the localites, strolled across the wooden bridge, visited the local mosque and the museum, and got the opportunity of meeting the King, Yabgo Mohammad Khan Kacho and hear him speak about the history of the village and artifacts used by the old Kings and Queens, that were kept in the museum.
Most people who visit Ladakh, tend to miss this spot. No one should do that… :)
It is one exceptional land, so far far away, that can bring peace and happiness to your eyes and inner self.

Turtuk | Leh Ladakh | Royal Palace of Yabgo Dynasty | Documentary
Located at the edge of India's border, Turtuk is a small beautiful Muslim village. It is the last outpost in India after which Pakistan-controlled Gilgot-Balistan begins.
Two wonderful days of stay in this serene beauty, and we received so much of warm hospitality from the localities, saw the white waterfall, strolled across the wooden bridge, visited the local mosque and the museum, and got the opportunity of meeting the King, Yabgo Mohammad Khan Kacho and hear him speak about the history of the village and artifacts used by the old Kings and Queens, that were kept in the museum.

Chadar Trek | Army rescue stranded tourist in Ladakh
The videos are of the air-rescue operation being conducted by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team of Mr. katak, Mr. Rangdol, Mr. tashi and another of Ladakh Mountain Rescue overseen by the CO himself, Col. Amit Kotnala of 1st battalion Ladakh Scouts, with air support by the Indian Airforce.
The rescue team is camping in nyaraks in a tent and with nothing but a stove to keep themselves warm.
Even before the army had arrived at nyaraks with food and cloth supplies and a medical team, it was the team of SDRF that had to make sure that everyone one was safe, warm and calm. I think they concluded the ineffable task of collecting all the stranded people, at various camping spots, at one spot i.e. nyaraks , in the most plausible way possible. After compiling the list of everyone stuck at nyaraks it was again the team of SDRF only that cleared the snow of two days heavy snowing for the chopper to land.
After the arrival of the army (ladakh scouts) it was this team again that made sure that there is a smooth flow of information between the administration, army and the tourists (porters n guides) to avoid any sort of confusion and panic. At times when panicked tourists and frustrated porters started abusing and shouting at the SDRF and ladakh mountain rescue teams, both the teams handled them very politely and professionally.
It, obviously, goes without saying that all this would not have been possible without the intervention of the administration of UT ladakh. I think, it was the after DC wrote a letter to the Indian Air Force to insist on the swift rescue of the ladakhis too along with tourists.
