The internet is sadly becoming more and more toxic/negative, and when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the level of extreme racist, ethnic, nationalistic and other purely cruel comments has been really upsetting.
So, if you would like to engage (and we really hope you will/do) then please take the time to use our email address :)
Thanks :)

Manastir Tvrdos
Tvrdoš (Serbian Cyrillic: Тврдош) is a Serb Orthodox monastery near the city of Trebinje, Republika Srpska. The 4th-century foundations of the first Roman church on the site are still visible today. The Orthodox monastery was established there in the 15th century, with a cathedral constructed about 1508 and painted with murals by Vicko Lavrov from Dubrovnik in 1517. The monastery remained a seat of the Metropolitans of Herzegovina until the Ottoman Turks destroyed it in 1694. The current building of the monastery was constructed in 1924.
Music from the album Pesme iznad istoka i zapada (Songs above East and West - Vladaj Boze (Rule, My God)

Rule, My God
My God, rule through me
And direct my steps:
Changelessly, invariably
Let Your words be heard.
Let Your words be heard
Through my feeble mouth;
Let acts stand by words,
Let Your acts be seen.
Let Your acts be seen
In the acts of my hands
So that the whole earth could
Sing in Your glory.
Sing and trumpet:
Lo, how son loves the Father!
Trumpet and proclaim:
The Father is celebrated through son!
Владај, Боже
Владај, Боже, ти кроз мене
И управи стопе моје:
Без промене и без смене
Нек се чују речи Твоје.
Нек се чују речи Твоје
Кроз немоћна уста моја;
Fortress of Doboj
Doboj Fortress or Gradina is located in the city of Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.[1] The fort is currently abandoned.
One of the most important defenses in the medieval bannate/duchy of Usora, this large stone structure was built in the early 13th century on the site of an earlier, clay and wood-based structure from the 10th or 11th century. In the first period of its existence, from the 13th to the late 14th or early 15th century (1415), the fortress was built in the Romanesque architecture style. This magnificent object has been burned and ransacked at least 18 times (per official/written record) in its history.
After the reconstruction of 1415, the Doboj fortress became more of a Gothic structure and had its keep reinforced with thick walls (up to 3 feet or 1 meter thick at the Eastern wall) as well as addition of a bastion/plateau with six cannon on top of it. The captain's tower was the dominating feature with a very tall and square keep dominating the fortress. Three big towers (North-West, Eastern, and Southern Gate) strategically protected the flanks of the fortress, hence rendering any idea of an attack a suicidal attempt. The Southern tower's walls became round in order to deflect cannonballs (circa 1370-1380s) and local captains at the time used Dubrovnik-made cannons, bombards, and balistas as fortress' main defense weaponry (Dubrovnik was known as Republic of Ragusa at the time)

Trebinje where wine and poetry go hand in hand
Trebinje is a picturesque town in the vicinity of Dubrovnik straddling Trebisnjica river in the Valley of Trebisnjica Its climate affected by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea is mild and extremely friendly to its inhabitants who have lived there for over a thousand years. Its colourful history is portrayed by many religious edifices from Serbian Orthodox, Catholic and Moslem. Hercegovacka Gracanica is a church built in 2000 as an exact replica of the famous Serbian medieval monastery in Kosovo of the same name. After the split up of the Yugoslavia Trebinje remained in Bosnia and Herzegovina, The Republika Srpska. One of its most famous sons is Jovan Ducic, poet and philosopher. It is a famous wine growing region and in some of its many monasteries wine production is in full swing. Local Inn cum wine cellar is widely known for excellent array of wines. The name of the Inn is 'Vukoja. Trebinje is a place which beckons a return to its beauty and serenity. An excellent stop on the way to the jewel of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik. The video was filmed when I visited last in September 2011.
