Named after the two oceans, the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic, merging in Cape Town, it houses the most important animal species in a 2 million liter of taking tank, the Open Ocean tank.

Anyone interested in diving needs to have a minimum of a Discover Scuba qualification. You can attain this limited qualification either with our onsite instructor or through another dive school. Ocean sunfish rescued from V&A Waterfront dry dock by Two Oceans Aquarium
What a special day! On 4 December 2019, the Two Oceans Aquarium was called out to rescue and release an ocean sunfish that had become trapped in the Robinson Dry Dock.
Rescuing this big Mola was no easy task, but thanks to incredible teamwork with Johnson Crane Hire and Transnet TNPA, we're pleased to report that this ocean wanderer has been safely returned to the wild.
Large working ports like Cape Town harbour are a major interface between the natural and human-made world, and it is always a pleasure to be able to work in collaboration with other organisations that see the value in conserving our ocean treasures.

There was so much I wanted to add but I didn't want to make this vlog too long. I also didn't want to spoil it for anyone who's keen to go one of these days.
Two Oceans Aquarium is in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront and a definite must for when you are in the area.
We had so much fun watching the jellyfish, learning about ocean life and losing our minds at every turn.
I'll do a full length vlog about this soon. Very excited to go back.

Without a doubt, the most popular animals in the Two Oceans Aquarium are the ragged-tooth sharks, housed in the I&J Predator Exhibit and visible through an enormous 11m-wide by 4m-high acrylic panel.
This 2-million-litre exhibit also showcases an impressive collection of predatory fish from the South African south coast.
These include shoals of yellowtail, garrick, dusky kob and black musselcracker.

Kids Find Fun – fun videos for kids! In our 3rd episode we visited The Two Oceans Aquarium. The Two Oceans Aquarium is situated at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa
Josh, Oliver and Toby (together with the crew) are huge fans of the aquarium. We have visited many times before and each time the kids are just as excited as the first! There is so much to see so we advise you to PLAN YOUR VISIT before you go – the website has a nifty page with all the info - Take note of the feeding times and puppet show and plan your visit around that. You don’t want to miss these highlights!
Some of our highlights:
• The 10-metre long transparent tunnel – So cool! It feels like
you are inside the tank
• I&J Ocean Exhibit
• The African Coelacanth Dry Display – The kids are allowed to
discover for themselves and dig through the sand to find the
“fossilised” Coelacanth.
• The I&J Children's Play Centre – puppet show and craft area
• The Predator Exhibit – Sharks!
• The Penguin Exhibit
• Funky neon Jelly Gallery
• Sharks

• Did we mention sharks?
We took a break at The I&J Children's Play Centre – (The perfect place for the kids to reboot and refuel). There is a little shop with popcorn, snacks and takeaway coffee! They have free crafts and even super friendly staff to help the kids make the crafts. The sandpit was also a hit.
The Smart Living Challenge Zone has four digital interactive installations, which address the themes of energy, water, waste and biodiversity. Such a great interactive way for kids to learn.
All in all, it’s just pretty amazing!

Two Oceans Aquarium | Things to do in Cape Town
More information here:
The Two Oceans Aquarium, located in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, is an absolute visual treat with over 3000 living sea animals. It is one of the biggest attractions in Cape Town and for good reason. The South African coastline is a meeting place of two major oceans. The tropical Indian Ocean and the cold Atlantic Ocean meet at Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. This divide is almost smack bang in the middle leaving thousands of miles of coast on each side.
