No matter how old we are, be it a child in grade school, or a middle aged adult in the work force, at any given time, we can all fall prey to a bully. This is not as much a message about an abusive employer as it is a message to my son about bullies.
How to Easily Apply for Post Office Jobs and Postal Exams - The Complete Postal Guide!
Please visit for more information on how to apply for post office jobs and postal exams.
This video on how to apply for Post Office jobs and exams is presented by PostalExam.com and is narrated by T.W. Parnell, #1 ranked author of the our Postal job and test prep guides. Following is an abbreviated transcript of his comments. Included on the video are illustrations and examples for each topic discussed.
Search for jobs online and apply at usps.com/careers.
Everything to do with hiring and testing is now done online at usps.com/careers. Every time one of the over 30,000 local Postmasters nationwide has a job to fill, he or she posts it on their website. There are usually over 1,000 jobs posted on their website at any given time. Each posting is only open for a few days to a few weeks. You can only apply during this limited period of time. You are supposed to be able to do text, location, and functional area job searches, but unfortunately none of these search functions really works the way they were intended.
Employment Application.
Assume you found a job you like. Now you must apply for it. Unfortunately, the application process is a certified nightmare. Their website warns that may take up to two hours to apply, and that is no idle threat. It will take you at least two frustrating hours, and likely a good bit more. The application consists of a mindboggling series of forms, cover letters, attachments, and conflicting instructions seemingly designed to drive you nuts. And if your application is not completed and submitted just right, it may get kicked out. You will think that you applied, but if you did not complete the application just right, all you really did was waste hours of your time, and you will never hear back from them.
Employment Exam.
So assume you handled the application properly. The next step is an employment exam. Thankfully there is no such thing as test dates anymore. They schedule you for the exam as you apply for a job, and you can apply for jobs anytime you want. You will almost certainly take exam 473E, the test used to fill the vast majority of all Postal jobs, all Processing, Distribution, Delivery, and Customer Service jobs. See my Postal Exam 473E video ( or the PostalExam.com 473E test page ( for full details on this exam. The bottom line is that, according to the Postal Service, Exam 473-E carries an 80-90% failure rate. That fact alone should tell the whole story.
Employment Interview.
Assuming you made it through the job search, the application, and the exam, next comes the employment interview. Postal policy states that only the top 3 applicants, the applicants with the top 3 scores, are invited for an interview, and one of these 3 gets the job. This means that you literally must have one of the top 3 scores for any chance at all. All the steps we have discussed are important, but when you get down to it, your exam score is the key. Everything depends on your exam score. They have a standard interview checklist, by the way, that is used when interviewing applicants regardless of the job being filled.
If you take nothing else away from this presentation, remember this: The one and only site you need for job search, application, and test prep assistance is PostalExam.com. You will find putting a little time and effort into using my guides to be a small investment compared to the tremendous rewards of a Postal career. Thank you for sharing a few moments of your time with me. I wish you the best of luck in your Postal job quest.

U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III visits Taunton's Homes for Our Troops
Congressman Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) visited the Homes for Our Troops headquarters on May 31 to congratulate the Veteran's Assistance nonprofit for having built 250-customized homes for severely wounded veterans around the country.
Kennedy presented the office with framed remarks from the U.S. House of Representatives and also gave a short speech to HFOT staff and press.
HFOT builds single-story, ranch-style homes for wounded post-9/11 Afghanistan and Iraq veterans who are unable to live comfortably and safely in traditionally-styled homes. The homes are fitted with wheelchair-friendly accommodations, among others, for those missing limbs or suffering from other lifelong disabilities as a result of their wounds.

One World Trade Center Is Now America's Tallest Building
One World Trade Center is now America's tallest building.
For roughly 12 years, crews in New York City have been working to replace the original World Trade Center which was destroyed on September 11th 2001.
On May 10th 2013, a 408-foot tall spire was placed on top of the new One World Trade Center with the help of a crane.
Comprised of 18 pieces, the steeple makes the total height of the tower 1,776 feet and if that number sounds familiar, it is because America signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It is also now the tallest building in the USA and in the entire Western Hemisphere.
A large group of cheering onlookers watched as the final piece of the tower was installed on top. A port authority representative states This really is a symbolic moment because this building really represents the resiliency of this country. These people, the thousand men and women who have worked here tirelessly, really as a tribute for the people that perished on 9/11 right on this site.

MARC PACHECO
The Honorable Marc Pacheco, Massachusetts Senate
PRESENTATION TITLE: Massachusetts Leads: Protecting the Environment and Greening Up the Bottom Line
ABSTRACT: Every nation of the world shares the problem of climate change, as well as the burden for its consequences if we do not address the threats we face. Considering this, one would expect the best way to defend our world against climate change is to develop policy that can be coordinated on a national and global scale. Despite the United States' status as a superpower, however, we have yet to even ratify the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, for example, or to implement a national strategy that competes with that of the European Union. As a result, it is clear that state governments must lead the way on climate change initiatives until a federal policy can be agreed upon and executed. Massachusetts has taken that lead.
As founding Chairman of the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change, I am proud of the policies Massachusetts has put into place that not only protect our environment and natural resources, but also green up the bottom line in the process. Today the Commonwealth is aggressively pursuing our target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2020, and 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050, through landmark clean energy policies such as the Global Warming Solutions Act, which I authored in 2008. Our economy supports a booming clean energy industry comprised of nearly 80,000 employees and more than 5,500 jobs. But as successful as we have been in dealing with this issue from an economic development perspective, we're still far and away from where we need to be to meet the environmental goals we've set forth. The State Legislature passed climate change legislation prior to our understanding of the full consequences of CO2 emissions; we've reached low-hanging fruit in areas such as energy efficiency and renewable fuel sources, but we still have a long way to go to make the more difficult choices that will preserve us from the worst effects of climate change, such as the implementation of a carbon pricing system. It is the public's responsibility to make sure the strong political will to act on climate change continues with the next administration and with all future legislative leaders in Massachusetts in order to continue the progress we have made so far.

The Boy Who was Executed Twice
Why Women Fainted So Much in the 19th Century and How This Led to the Vibrator Being Invented
In this video:
By the time Rainey Bethea was executed on August 14, 1936, most of the United States had ceased executing people publicly. This was in large part because of the natural ghoulishness of the event, combined with the propensity for mistakes that make the whole thing even more disturbing to watch. (This is still a major problem today with approximately 7% of lethal injection executions being botched in the United States.) However, in Kentucky in 1936 an execution could still be held publicly and, according to the jury at his trial, Bethea deserved such an end.
