Miracles in Jinja and Kabale Uganda.
The deaf hear, the blind see, the cripples walk, tumors disappear, cancer is healed. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever is still healing, transforming and setting his people free.

MY WEEK IN KABALE, UGANDA | 2019
Another upload--this time from my week in Kabale, Uganda at the Entusi Resort! We ate a ton of avocado toast and rolex, but we worked off the calories by hiking through the hills surrounding Lake Bunyonyi. It was an amazing retreat, and I had an amazing time! More vlogs to come in my Uganda series!

To UGANDA ???????? from Rwanda by Bus | Visit East Africa
Travelling from Rwanda to Uganda by bus is very easy and comfortable. It takes only 12 USD from Kigali to Kampala.
For most people in the region, travel by bus is the easiest and affordable way to make long journeys, travel by air is more a luxury than a necessity for many and since there is no railway travel in Rwanda the best way to connect Rwanda to rest of East Africa is by road transportation until standard railway tracks are extended to the country from Mombasa through Mombasa across the Uganda border through Kampala and on to Rwanda.
The route by road runs along what is known as the Central Transport Corridor and will be crossing into Tanzania at the just opened one stop common border point at Rusumo, where a few months ago a new bridge was opened too, both generously financed by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency JICA.
For long now long distance travel across East Africa has been done by bus. It is affordable for locals and there is quite the price competition among the different bus operating companies. Lately however, a few airlines are doing their best to give bus services a run for their money by lowering airline tickets for flights within the region. In Tanzania for example, the air tickets for domestic flights sell for as low as $20 including taxes, and tickets for flights across the region can go for $50. Kenya also has some low cost flight tickets that compete favourably with bus fares.

Uganda National Roads Authority to undertake final restoration works on Source of the Nile Bridge
The source of the Nile Bridge is very safe and suitable for traffic flow.
According to Uganda National Roads Authority, the contractor of the source of the Nile Bridge project will undertake restoration works to replace the defective pavement layer on the bridge from 15th April to July 10th 2019.
Eng. Lawrence Pario, Head Bridges & Structures, UNRA says the scope of the works will include application of a water proofing material to the concrete deck surface that will effectively bind with the modified polymer asphalt layer.
This comes amidst media reports that the bridge is not in good condition.

2015.04.09 Taxi from Kabale to Rushaga - Uganda
In the town of Kabale, Gavin and I hired a private taxi to take us to the village of Rushaga where we would go to see the Gorillas. Most of the taxi drivers were really aggressive but there didn't seem to be any public transportation, so we picked the nicest guy. The trip turned out to be farther than we'd thought and the roads were rough in the pouring rain. Though we spent hours driving, the scenery was beautiful and very much reminded us of Gorillas in the Mist.

Uganda & Rwanda: Kampala, rafting the Nile, mountain gorillas, and Kigali (2019)
Navigating the hustle and bustle of urban Kampala - the epitome of East Africa's population explosion.
Grade 5 whitewater rafting on the white Nile - the most extreme rapids a non-professional can go on.
Trekking with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat - only 1,000 left in the world, all are only found in this region (border of Uganda, Rwanda, and the DR Congo), and can only be seen in the wild as they cannot be kept in captivity. Exploring Rwanda's capital, Kigali - incredibly clean and much more modern than most may think. No wonder they call it the 'Singapore of Africa'. Then had a lay-over in actual Singapore on the way back.
Tips:
East Africa:
-bring plenty of USD, tours and hotels give discounts
-there's security checkpoints everywhere (malls, hotels etc)
-powerbanks, mosquito repellent
-be prepared to do your own laundry
-need Yellow Fever vaccination certificate to get in/out of many countries
Kampala:
-get around on SafeBoda motorbike taxis (don't even need to download app just flag them down)
-central/Gadafi mosque for good view of city
-Bahai temple worth visit (only 7 in world), don't let you take photos/videos though
-walk around old Kampala in morning, try 'rolex with 2 eggs' for breakfast
-The Lawns Wild Game BBQ restaurant for all sorts of game meat
-Acacia mall for modern shopping needs
Rafting on Jinja:
-highly highly recommend grade 5 full day extreme rafting at
-So well organised and beyond the adrenalin, the Nile scenery is stunning
-bring sunscreen with you - there's another boat where they'll store it for you
-actually, wear long sleeves as you get sun burned so much
-water is slow on many parts of the Nile so expect lots of rowing!
Gorilla tour in Bwindi Impenetrable national park:
-went with Monkey Adventures ($1.3k USD) for 3 day tour (day 1 mostly drive from Kampala to Bwindi area, day 2 gorilla trek, day 3 Bunyonyi lake and drive back)
-I arranged to get driven to Kigali (quite close to Kabale, near gorilla area) instead of back to Kampala
-wear gum boots, bring rain coat
-there's chance you won't get to see gorillas, in that case they offer you to come back next day for free so keep next day free just in case
Kigali:
-get around on motorbike taxis, very safe and they quote fair price. city is small so good to walk too
-start with genocide memorial, makes you appreciate how fast and far the country has transformed since
-rooftop bar on top of Ubumwe Grand Hotel
-Shokola storytellers cafe behind Kigali library
-convention centre nice in early evening
-try fish tacos at The Hut
