On Uglich where eyes look
Uglich for the tourist is a city of churches and monasteries, there are a lot of them and everything with its history.
Well, it's time, wrapped up in a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea to begin to disassemble the treasures of the magic folder called Cruise. The solid gray outside the window erases the time limits. It seems that the river was only recently (indeed, if you look at the calendar, it's only been two months) and at the same time the feeling is as if it were all in some other, summer and sunny life. Now, as if from an old grandmother's trunk I take out small fragments of summer, you just need to shake off the dust a little and ....
The main task is to decide where to go. I understand that I do not fit in the hydropower engineering museum on time, I see that the organized excursion goes towards the Kremlin, which means that there is nothing to do and therefore I go aside to the Epiphany Monastery. In general, those who were in Uglich will probably agree that for a tourist Uglich is a city of churches and monasteries, there are a lot of them and each with its own history.
My favorite church is Uglich - Tsarevich Dmitry Church On Blood, built on the site where the 9-year-old son of Ivan the Terrible Dmitry was killed. This church meets everyone who comes to Uglich along the river, the truth is that to approach it you need to bypass a long stream, so long as we admire from outside and go further.
Before leaving the pipe, the stream forms such a creek. Local peasants are fishing here, but tourists are catching the reflection of the former building of the City's representative offices, which now houses the museum's administration, its library and the storage facility.
Uspensky Square 2. Now in this luxurious house, the registry office and the administration of the Uglich district, and once the house belonged to merchants Evreinov. Two-story house began to build in 1982, and finished already at the beginning of the last century.
The upper floor of the house was occupied by furnished rooms, analogous to today's hotels, and the lower floor was given to shops. Since 1911, here was the first in the city cinematography.
I walk to Rostov Monastery. Originally the monastery was wooden and was located on the territory of the Uglich Kremlin, but in the middle of the 17th century it was decided to move it to a quieter place, where it stands to this day. At the end of the 17th century the Epiphany Church was built (now it is inside the monastery walls). The Epiphany Cathedral, the largest in Uglich, was built a century later, in the mid-19th century.
Inside the monastery does not go, from the street I fell in love with the blue in the golden stars of the dome and went on.
Pass the peacefully resting on the hood of the car furry strength was not enough, but she did not mind
I walk around the monastery, on the street on January 9, the street is extremely uncomfortable, so I quickly turn off and get to the street of Lenin (surprisingly, they have not been renamed).
And two more beautiful buildings.
Opposite the house of Vinogradov there is another very beautiful building, now it houses the Children's Creativity. I wonder who owned this building before? It looks like a merchant or a noble house.
It's very close to the tourist center, so they turn around and walk down Lenin Street in the opposite direction, because there is still time to take a walk.
Near the remnants of the church there is a pond, but I did not even venture to go there, because I did not take any rubber boots with me.
But admired the wonderful houses, almost like a fairy tale.
And then, jumping fun through puddles, returned to civilization.
In civilization, I talked with another representative of the Ugolich tail, and dived towards the center.
Near the hotel Kazan Church (1769-1778gg). In the old photos it is pink, so what was its original color to say difficult.
The place where the temple is built is considered one of the most popular, but at the same time not the luckiest place in the city. Approximately once in a hundred years, the local churches burned so that it did not make sense to restore them, and so they built new ones. At the end of the 14th century there was a wooden church of St. George, in the 16th century the Church of the Wonderful Mother of God. After she burned down the merchants decided to build a shopping arcade at this place and even called the Hlebnaya Square. However, in 1639, the shops were ordered to demolish and build another temple, which managed to live up to our days. Unfortunately, and there was a fire, in 1921, all the interior decoration of the temple was burnt.
During the years of Soviet power there was a water tower, a warehouse and even a hostel. Now the temple is returned to the believers.
