Adeyto LIVE 520yo Bonsai Tree @ HAPPO-EN Japanese Garden & Wedding Halls TOKYO Japan
Happo-en’s garden, skillfully incorporating the basic principles of traditional garden landscaping, was carefully composed to
reproduce a natural setting. It includes several features of historic importance, such as a display of bonsai trees
over 500 years old, and the “Muan” and “Kakuhoan” teahouses, transported and rebuilt on site, all harmoniously blending to create an oasis of beauty that brings pleasure throughout the year.
During the early part of the Edo Period, this location is said to have served as a subsidiary mansion of Okubo Hikozaemon, a close confident of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and has been carefully preserved as a Japanese garden that harmonizes with nature. In 1950 it was designated as a spot which is beautiful viewed from any angle. Today it is famed as a venue where over 2,000 marriages are conducted yearly, and its restaurants and banquet facilities welcome both Japanese and foreign guests

[The Incredible Japanese Prison Break]
Aomori, Japan. 1936. Prisoner Yoshie Shiratori had had enough.
He was forced to confess to a murder he did not commit, falsely imprisoned in Aomori Prison, beaten and tortured every night by prison guards, and, now worse, prosecutors were seeking the death penalty. In his mind, it was time to go; but Aomori Prison wasn’t the easiest to escape.
Regardless, Yoshie Shiratori had nothing to lose, and so at 5:30 am he made his move. He knew there would be a 15 minute gap in the patrol time as he had studied the guards’ routine for months; and when the coast was clear, he pulled out a metal wire (which he had smuggled in from the bathhouse) and started to pick the lock. (This was originally the metal support ring that was wrapped around the bathing buckets inmates used to wash themselves).
His hands were stiff from the wintry cold, but after a few minutes of picking, he had success, and his cell door swung open. But he wasn’t out of the woods yet, because there were more locked doors ahead. He knew he only had a few minutes left before the guards would return, and so he wasted no time attempting to pick his way through the remaining security doors.
Now fortunately for him, he was able to make it out of the facility, but the bad news was that he was only halfway to freedom. You see, he was still well within the search perimeter, which meant at any moment the alarm could go off and he’d still be caught.
At 5:45am the guards returned, peering into his cell; and this is what they saw - Shiratori sound asleep in his futon bed. ...
Byodo-In Temple (Make sure to watch in compatible browser)
One of our favorite places on all of Oahu is Byodo-In temple. It is a replica of the Byodo-In temple just outside Kyoto, Japan. It was built as a commemoration of the 100 year mark since the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.
Today it is one of the coolest things to see on Oahu. It's sort of a secret too. You have to go through the cemetery at the Valley of the Temples on the windward side. The serenity and beauty of the places has enchanted us for years.

Medical marijuana is legal in 20 states and the District of Columbia, but there are still use cases that are very controversial, like medical marijuana for children. Some claim it's a wonder drug for epilepsy, severe autism, and even to quell the harsh side effects of chemotherapy, while others decry pumping marijuana into still-growing bodies. We went to the small town of Pendleton, Oregon, where medical marijuana is legal, to visit Mykayla Comstock, an eight-year-old leukemia patient who takes massive amounts of weed to treat her illness. Her family, and many people we met along the way, believe not only in the palliative aspects of the drug, but also in marijuana's curative effect—that pot can literally shrink tumors.
