Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, 80 km (50 mi) south of Helsinki, east of Stockholm and west of Saint Petersburg. From the 13th century until 1918 (and briefly during the Nazi occupation of Estonia from 1941 to 1944), the city was known as Reval. Tallinn occupies an area of 159.2 km2 (61.5 sq mi) and has a population of 443,894. Approximately 32% of Estonia's total population lives in Tallinn.
Tallinn was founded in 1248, but the earliest human settlements are over 5,000 years old, making it one of the oldest capital cities of Northern Europe. Due to its strategic location, the city became a major trade hub, especially from the 14th to the 16th century, when it grew in importance as part of the Hanseatic League.
Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tallinn is the major political, financial, cultural and educational center of Estonia. Often dubbed the Silicon Valley of Europe, it has the highest number of startups per person in Europe and is a birthplace of many international companies, including Skype. Providing to the global cybersecurity it is the home to the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. It is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world. The city was a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku in Finland.
The registered population of Tallinn on 1 June 2016 was 440,950.
According to Eurostat, in 2004 Tallinn had one of the largest number of non-EU nationals of all EU member states' capital cities with Russians forming a significant minority (~37% belong to the Russian ethnic group, but a majority now hold Estonian citizenship).[45] Ethnic Estonians make up about 55% of the population (as of 2014).
The official language of Tallinn is Estonian. In 2011, 206,490 (50.1%) spoke Estonian as their native language and 192,199 (46.7%) spoke Russian as their native language. Other spoken languages include Ukrainian, Belarusian and Finnish.

SVJATA VATRA - ‘’Shchedryk'' / ''Щeдрик’’ Ukrainian Christmas Carols
Svjata Vatra’s new single „Shchedryk“
The first single from Svjata Vatra’s 2020 album „World, You are changing“ is called „Shchedryk“.
“Shchedryk” is the most well known Ukrainian Christmas song that’s been heard in hundreds of arrangements over the years. Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych used archaic traditional material to compose the song in 1916. In the song, there’s a swallow flying over the sky, wishing all the good things that the spring would bring to everyone. In the older tradition, new year was celebrated as the spring came in april - only later, with christianity being introduced to the area, the new year’s eve moved to the day we all know today. Well – almost – as the Ukrainian new year’s eve is still celebrated according to the old calendar, on 13. of january in the Julian Calendar (December 31 Old style). The night is called „Shchedryi Vechyr” (Bountiful Evening or Feast of Epiphany). The song got to be known in english as “Carol of the Bells”, arranged by Peter J. Wilhovsky, after the song was performed in Carnegie Hall by Ukrainian national choir in 1921. Wilhovsky publicized the song in 1936, with new lyrics in english, which did not follow the original, but got recognized in the USA and Canada. Cince then, „Shchedryk“ has been known as a Christmas song and Svjata Vatra finds it perfectly suitable for introducing the new CD and to wish happy Christmas to all their listeners. Three generations of musicians take part in the production of the album, pointing out the importance of the wisdom of grandparents that transfers to children and grandchildren. The song „Shchedryk“ is built around father (Ruslan Trochynskyi) and daughter (Rute Trochynskyi) singing together, supported as an echo from the past by a choir of Ukrainian grannys (Žurba).

прилeтiла ластiвочка,
прилeтiла ластiвочка.
Shchedryk shchedryk, shchedrivochka,

Shchedryk shchedryk, shchedrivochka,

Shchedryk, shchedryk, a shchedrivka
[New Year's carol];
A little swallow flew [into the household]
and started to twitter,
to summon the master:
Come out, come out, O master [of the household],
look at the sheep pen,
there the ewes have yeaned
and the lambkins have been born
Your goods [livestock] are great,
you will have a lot of money, [by selling them].
If not money, then chaff: [from all the grain you will harvest]
you have a dark-eyebrowed [beautiful] wife.
Shchedryk, shchedryk, a shchedrivka,
A little swallow flew.

Tallinn, Estonia - Old Town Tallinn Complete Tour (2018)
Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in Harju County. From the 13th century until 1918 (and briefly during the Nazi occupation of Estonia from 1941 to 1944), in languages other than Estonian, the city was known as Reval. Tallinn, first mentioned in 1219, received city rights in 1248, but the earliest human settlements date back 5,000 years. Due to its strategic location, the city became a major trade hub, especially from the 14th to the 16th century, when it grew in importance as part of the Hanseatic League.

Yellow Line: Revitalizing Museum in Ukraine's Donbas
Yellow caution tape is used to draw attention to potential danger. Beyond this fragile boundary one may see a hole in the ground or a crumbling wall mosaic or some other public hazard.
Yellow Line is a series of exhibitions in the Donetsk region aimed at drawing attention to local historical monuments, architecture, and monumental art at risk of being lost. Its organizers include Olha Honchar, director of the Territory of Terror museum in Lviv. She and her team have been traveling to eastern Ukraine since 2015 to help local museums bring their working methods and formats up to date.
Visiting five cities on the Ukrainian side of the contact line in five days, the cultural activists observed how local landmarks are being maintained and asked local residents whether they were ready to preserve these historic monuments. They left five public display boards in each city, reminding residents of their local heritage.
Each city has a unique cultural history, interwoven with both the Soviet and European past. For example, Druzhkivka was once a center for ceramic production. Its porcelain tea sets were common in apartments all over the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Kostiantynivka is known for its glass industry, established by Belgian entrepreneurs in the 19th century.
In Pokrovsk the museum welcomes young volunteers and is open to experimentation, whereas Sloviansk is inclined toward preservation, especially of its public outdoor mosaics. And the coal-mining town Dobropillia has no local museum. Yet projects like Yellow Line are organized expressly to facilitate the creation and development of local museums.
Hromadske attended the openings of the Yellow Line project’s five exhibitions last winter to see how cultural activists from Ukraine’s west and east are cooperating to highlight local cultural heritage.

Pegasus Pow Wow 13 | Gewinner & Verlierer (live vom Mittsommer in Tallinn)
Sondern jeden Tag aufs Neue erkämpft werden will.

Old-city,Tallinn,Estonia
After the collapse of the former Soviet Union, democratization proceeds, this country is now also contains the Japanese culture in recent years. Under communism would have been a force out speech and freedom rather than repression.
