Winnipeg opening at the Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre on Monday, June 15, 2015.
UJE's travelling exhibition, “A Journey Through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: From Antiquity to 1914, had its Winnipeg opening at the Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre on Monday, June 15, 2015. More than 150 people attended, with strong representation from both the Ukrainian and Jewish communities.
This multi-media exhibition is a major project of UJE, co-funded under a Contribution Agreement with the Government of Canada. Through thematic panels and continually playing short videos, the exhibition treats the historical experience of these two stateless peoples together, in all its complexity—during long periods of normal neighbourly co-existence and cross-cultural interaction, as well as during periods of crisis.
The exhibition, first shown at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre in Vaughan, Ontario, May 28-June 7, continues at the Oseredok Centre until June 27. It will then return to downtown Toronto July 7–19 to St. Vladimir Institute (the Ukrainian Museum of Canada–Ontario Branch), and then travel to Edmonton and Montreal in August-September.

Drowning in Racism_Winnipeg2015
McCleans magazine in 2015 reported that Winnipeg is the most racist city of Canada. To many this was not surprising, as for over a century First Nations human rights issues in Manitoba have been addressed through anti-semitic ideals. The purpose of this video is to call for help from all governmental institutions, in particular educational institutions, to bring awareness into the classroom and improve our next generation of professionals.
