Supercar Tours - Melbourne (Dromana) Experience - Lamborghini Gallardo
Check out my Instagram for more supercar fun:@dreamjobinitiative
I was given the opportunity, with Supercar Tours Melbourne, to take a Lamborghini (or Ferrari) for a spin. Super Car Tours have two locations in Victoria, Dromana and Yarra Valley. My family and I happened to be on our way to the Winter Wine Weekend at Redhill, another must do in the area, so took advantage of the fact that the Super Tours Dromana office was close by and called in on the way.
(Skip to 11min for full throttle run)
The service and experience was quite good. If you have never driven a supercar before, have no access to one personally and LOVE the thought of taking one for a spin, then this is a dream come true!
I had actually never driven a Gallardo and must admit, it was a hero car of mine back when it was released, I was quite excited to take one for a quick burn.
Of course, the Huracán is a better car, but when the Gallardo was released it was up against the Ferrari 360 and I believe it stood a level above. A 500hp V10 in a stunning looking body made this car a standout. Yes, the Huracán is a much better car, but it doesn't stand out above the competition today, like the Gallardo did then... hence it;s hero status for me.
But it is FAR from perfect, especially in e-gear spec. The e-gear is a single-clutch semi-automatic gearbox, that to be frank, it pretty awful compared to the much more refined dual clutch gearboxes available on most supercars today. I could not live with it if it was in my garage. But, for a once off drive, it seems to add to the experience. Slamming you back in the seat on shifts and giving you that character imperfections feeling of supercars of old. It did stutter though on a hard launch, between first and second, as you will see in the video (skip to 11min mark)
Once the drive was over I was shown the in car video and you can purchase this. The only problem is it is low resolution 4/3. You can also see this low quality in the video, against the exterior shot from my Gitup Git2, mounted on the rear of the car (1080P 60fps). But this is probably also fine for most, as a keepsake of their dream car drive.
You can choose between the Ferrari 360 (spider is available) or Gallardo and I happened to have the 2007 green variant, but he also has a 2004 Yellow Gallardo. They are all automatic (flappy paddle) type gearboxes as it must apeal to the masses - so no manuals unfortunately.
Overall the experience was fantastic and I can recommend this, or something like, for yourself, or someone special whom you know would love it!
Driving School Melbourne - How to pass your Hazard Perception Test - Driving Lessons in Melbourne
Hi, I'm Richard the Manager of the Melbourne Driving School. I'd like to welcome you to the Melbourne Driving School series of videos in relation to learning to drive, passing your driving test, and getting your Victorian Drivers Licence. This video will guide you on how to pass your HPT or Hazard Perception Test.
This is a computer based test which you must pass before you can sit your Practical Drive Test.
It has 28 scenarios and you have 45 minutes to complete the test. So just relax as you have plenty of time. In fact most learners finish within 30 minutes easily.
Now here's my Melbourne Driving School 7 point plan:
1. Attempt all 4 practice items at the start of the test, and if you get any of these wrong, repeat all 4
2. Read carefully and understand the instructions on the screen, so that you know exactly what is required from you per the scenario
3. Check your speed on the digital speedo on the monitor. This is relevant to how quickly, or leisurely you may need to react to the potential hazard.
4. Assess what the hazard is, and when in reality you should react
5. Don't panic and react before the hazard eventuates, however at the same time don't wait until you almost crash before you react.
6. Let me break it down for you. Find the potential hazard, check your current speed, assess the situation and then decide if and when you need to react in reality. Try and imagine that you were actually driving on the road.
7. Lastly, and most importantly, here's a little insider secret that Vicroads don't spell out to clearly:
There are some scenarios that NO REACTION is required. Yes, you may come across 3 or 4 that you don't do anything. So just let the scene finish without hitting your mouse button at all.
There is some additional and helpful information on our website, which includes the Secrets to passing your driving test on so check that out and feel free to contact us at anytime 0414 771 101, we are available 7 days a week.

How To Find A Great Suburb To Invest In | Drive With Ben
With thousands of suburbs in Australia, it can be overwhelming to pick just one.
That said, not all suburbs are created equal, and once you have a clear investment strategy most suburbs will no longer be relevant.
Rather than spending endless days on realestate.com.au and Domain, I choose to identify the right suburb first, then start my search for the right property.
