The shortlist of nominees for the 2013 cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture was announced on 30 April 2013 in Lisbon, Portugal. The 20 nominees for the US$ 1 million prize range from a modern high rise apartment block to the revival of traditional building techniques.

During my usual errands, I bumped on a 'Magic Shop' in a fast growing suburb just west of Kigali. Someone must be laughing all the to the bank! This got me thinking....

Just how cheap could filmmaking get? I have just acquired a second hand flip video Ultra-HD camera (3rd generation) at a throw away price and am now trying my hands on the little gadget. It gives a 720p mp4 file 60fps... The whole stuff is not worth celebrating but it can give a head start to green guys in the industry....

The Batwa Pygmies is an African tribe in south western Uganda, they face a great danger of extinction due to the Ugandan government policy of reclaiming forests that are being inhabited by people. The Batwa occupy the forests in Gahinga where they get food during hunting, gathering and many other activities not forgetting the caves in the mountains that mean a lot in their culture and warfare. The Batwa communities live side by side with Gorillas in Uganda. Batwa live in forests of Gahinga and Bwindi with Mountain Gorillas.

Near the town of Rubuguri at the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest in Uganda, the Batwa Pygmies sang about the beauty of Uganda and praised the rainforest in their native language, Rukiga. February 17, 2012.
