TO HELL AND BACK IN UNAWATUNA · SRI LANKA 2018 | TRAVEL VLOG #56
When Sri Lanka declared a nationwide state of emergency, and the weather was less than perfect, we had to be creative and come up with some alternative experiences in the Unawatuna area on the South coast of Sri Lanka. Unawatuna is known for surfing, parties and turtle watching, but we didn't do any of that. Instead we went for a walk on Unawatuna beach, drove to Galle to see the market area and found a beautiful temple a little North of Dalawella Beach. Oh, yeah – and then we found a beautiful beach where we saw a bunch of locals fishing.

Can't believe this is Sri Lanka | Unawatuna & Galle
Our Sri Lanka Tour has come to an end as we see some of the best beaches in the country down in Unawatuna beach.
In the morning we just had to go out and swim in the warm Indian Ocean as we headed out on a snorkel trip to Jungle Beach.
Afterwards we went into the main town to try out some local Sri Lanka fusion food at Skinny Toms deli where we tried shakshuka hoppers and eggs benedict hoppers.
In the afternoon we headed to Galle to the see the famous lighthouse of Sri Lanka before making our way back to Colombo to end our time in this INCREDIBLE country!
Seriously guys...add Sri Lanka to the bucket list!

This video is about our trip to one of the best beaches in Unawatuna, Sri Lanka - Jungle Beach. A small beach about 2 kilometres from town. For us this was a far better beach than the main Unawatuna beach. Quieter and with nicer water. We loved that the locals also came here.

This Video is the 5th Episode of my Sri Lanka Vlog Series, where I traveled on a local bus from Ella to Unawatuna.
The highlight of this episode is traveling on a local bus for the first time in Sri Lanka and then visiting the most beautiful beach of Sri Lanka - Unawatuna.

Sri Lanka is an amazing tourist destination. According to Lonely Planet Sri Lanka ranks Number 1 spot in the top 10 destinations to visit for the Year 2019. And they have every reason to be on top, as the place is amazing, people are nicest, the weather is superb, food is mouthwatering, culture is rich, wildlife is outrageous, beaches are serene.
But after recent terrorist bombings, this country is still struggling to get back to its momentum. They need our support right now. And the least we can do is to travel to this beautiful Pearl in the Indian Ocean.
With this Vlog series, I am trying to show the beauty of this neighboring country which is just a stone's throw away and is in the budget of every backpacker from India. If my series motivates even one person to travel to this country, I will take that as a success of my effort.

UNAWATUNA TRAVEL GUIDE PART 1 | SRI LANKA
Hey Guys! Thank you for tuning in! In this video, we have shared with you our Unawatuna travel guide experience in Sri Lanka. We visited the most Instagramable places in Sri Lanka and they were even better then the pictures. We also released baby turtles into the ocean and learned a lot about the turtle hatchery and how they take care of the wounded turtles. We started off with Mirissa, Weligama, Koggala to release baby turtles and ended off with the spectacular sunset from Dalawella.
Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Matara District of the Southern Province. It is approximately 150 kilometres south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 4 metres above sea level. Mirissa's beach and nightlife make it a popular tourist destination.
Weligama is a town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Matara District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. The name Weligama, literally means sandy village which refers to the area's sandy sweep bay.
Koggala is a small coastal town, situated at the edge of a lagoon on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Galle District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council.
Dalawella beach is located in the Unawatuna area southwest on the island of Sri Lanka. Palm-fringed sandy beach backed with restaurants & tourist accommodation.
