Hobart, Tassie Capital! Moss Hotel @ Salamanca Place | Tasmania Part 5 'On The Road' Travel Series ????
Tassie’s capital city and my home town, it was safe to say I was excited to return to Hobart. Driving into Hobart is a drive I’ve taken many times in my life, crossing the Derwent river and winding into Davey Street still feels very familiar but far more developed than I remember. The classics are still here I notice as I pass Muirs and Flippers the floating fish and chippery… but there is something new, a different energy in the wharfside air. Hidden doors, subtle designer signage and trendy 20-somethings are a dead giveaway that Hobart has found its cool factor.
One of the oldest cities in Australia, second to Sydney, the town’s history can be easily seen in its buildings and it was the architecture that we had come to see. Moss Hotel, wedged in the middle of the action at Salamanca Place, is the most perfect example of old and new. An understated green transparent door on one of the busiest streets in Hobart, takes you through to a quiet oasis of converted history - iconic from its convict days as well as its more recent history as Surreal nightclub. This character remains, with stories to be told in every turn.
Not only a hot spot for boutique designer hotels, Hobart now claims itself as a modern foodie heaven - with spots like Agrarian Kitchen, Frank’s and Templo just a few from many exciting Hobart restaurants. Not to mention a haven for art and culture junkies with the arrival of Mona (Museum of Old and New Art) in the early 2000s. David Walsh’s decision to plant this forward thinking display of contemporary art in the suburbs of North Hobart, was a huge statement in itself. Given that previously the closest North Hobart had got to culture was the Derwent Entertainment Centre, which as any Tasmanian will tell you, is not quite the same thing. This belief in Hobart as a destination created pride amongst locals and inspired many of independent creators to follow.
Traveling across Tasmania featuring the best Design & Experience, this episode we visit Hoart, Moss Hotel, Macq01 Hotel & Evolve Spirits Bar.

Day 4 - 4 of Tasmania down under
Tasmania Down under April 2019
Hi all! Here is the final episode of the Tasmania down under series. Unfortunately there was not a lot to film on this final day, so this episode is pretty much to say thank you to all the people who have watched this Tasmania down under series and to highlight some special moments throughout this series. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have been following this series and special big thank you for all the wonderful comments.
I would also personally like to thank Pat Bushell & Tyler Bushell for inviting me to come along on there family vacation! It was certainly an enjoyable 4 days.
Cheers for now and thanks for watching
. In March 2019 my brother Tyler was Continually asking myself and my step father “Pat” to take him on a trip around Tasmania. However, a big trip like this was hard to plan due to work commitments however with a bit of luck Pat and I managed to get a bit of a break of work, so we decided to fit this short trip in to Tasmania for Tyler. I would Like to Point out, with Tyler’s permission that Tyler is diagnosed with Autism which at times you will see throughout this series, at times through throughout Tyler’s life people have mistakenly thought Tyler is under the influence of some type of drugs which is clearly not the case, Unfortunately Tyler was dealt with bad card in this life. However, I assure you that Tyler has certainly seen and has enjoyed many things over his life, and we all love him dearly.
. Any Way Back to this series. The Bushell Family which include My step father “Pat “and Brother “Tyler” and I travel throughout parts of Tasmania over a 4-day period. In which we visit some amazing places.
. On this trip I originally was not going to do any videoing as I decided not to bring any of my camera gear as I was unsure how we were going to travel around Tasmania, I thought taking all my camera equipment may be too much of a hassle. However, Tyler was adamant he wanted me to do a video, so the only piece of videography equipment I had on me was my iPhone, which surprisingly did a fantastic job over the four days. The only few little things that give me a bit of trouble over the four days was the Audio and been an iPhone it only has a fairly small sensor so any slight movement and it would have to refocus which made some content a tad blurry at times. So, to avoid this I tried and told the other guys to try and keep the phone as still as possible when videoing, and the other unfortunate thing I found was when it come to uploading all my footage to my computer it for some reason uploaded my footage in 720hd format however I made shore I had my phone camera set on 1080 HD 60fps, so not sure what happened there, but I did fix it the best I could when it come to the edit stage by upscaling from 720 to 1080, which then made the video more clearer, however when you do that you still loose quality footage compared to its original footage on the iPhone, all in all, well done Apple, your phones can do a fantastic job when videoing if needed.

Tasmania is great from the sea to the mountains
The world is like a brand new coloring book...
Tasmania is an island located south of Australia. In the space of three days, the Tasman crew and I ventured through the island's most interesting spots while experiencing landscapes that I had only seen before in movies and wild fauna like I had never experienced before.
From Hobart to Launceston, Tasmania gave us the opportunity to commune with nature, I mean, it even deprived us of our cell phones so we had a better appreciation of what was around us.
Heaps of wild wallabies, equidnas, wombats and many species of birds were surrounding us at all times. They were sharing with us this adventure and actually welcomed us really well into their homes amongst nature.
I loved the alpine hikes that you can find in Tasmania, especially Cradle Mountain which I found a little bit challenging, but beautiful. If you are planning to go there, I recommend you bring some good warm clothes and also some beer for the way, I assure you it will stay cold at all times xP

Tasmania Hobart Trip
Tasmania Hobart Trip
I am a big advocate for taking time to just enjoy life and get out of the day-to-day routine. Taylah and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary last week so we decided to mark the occasion with a spontaneous trip to Tasmania. No bookings, no plans — just get there and see what happens.
With no set plan in mind we arrived in Hobart and hired a car to allow us to explore. During our short trip we managed to explore the Mona underground art museum, the historic town of Port Arthur, the Salamanca markets, and Remarkable Cove. The scenery was beautiful and, though not all of the activities were to my taste, it was a great experience and time to get away together.

Tasmania Australia - What a beautiful state
Heres a slide show of photos I took while in Tassie in September 07.
I love my photography but I dont get to do too much of it. I took all these while on our honeymoon. I guess the stress of the wedding was gone so I was stress free which allowed me to take some of my best photos.
Some photos were just taken because of where we were but while we were in Strahan - which is on the west coast - we had a full day to just walk around. I took this chance to get snappy happy. I took near 200 hundred photos on that day which only about 10 or so made the cut.
Places seen in this vid are below;
Hobart
Mt Wellington
Port Aurthur
Richmond
East Coast
Campbell Town
Scottsdale
Launceston
Devonport
Marakoopa Cave
Stanley
Queenstown
Cradle Mountain
Lake St Clair
and different locations on the way.
=EDIT= My wife pointed out that 2 photos she took. One of the Sheep RAMBO and a beach photo. Woops My Bad.
