Most amazing roadtrip in Japan till date. Adrien, Sergio, Alba & Nikhil drove-off from Tokyo on Sat evening. Reached the tiny town of Kumomi-onsen on the west coast of Izu peninsula. Slept right next to the ocean. Woke-up to the music of waves and cool sea breeze. To crackpot Japanese guys helped us to find the open air onsen we were looking for. It was such an amazing onsen. Located in a valley and just 10m from the sea. The spot was great for snorkeling too. Go into the ocean, when cold take a dip in the onsen. Ocean was crystal clear and full of interesting flora & fauna. Snorkeled for hours. Could not get any better. In the afternoon drove toward Irozaki; the southernmost tip of Izu. In the night drove to Shimoda. Next morning it was time to enjoy the white sand beaches I had been waiting to enjoy. Due to typhoon the winds were erratic and getting in the water was not very much pleasant. Ended up biting the Snorkel anyways. In afternoon drove along the izu east coast towards the Seven waterfalls. Started the journey back home at 14:00 and arrived at Tokyo 20:00. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ※ 500km of driving ※ Sleeping and waking up at the ocean ※ 5 hrs Snorkeling with beautiful flora-fauna ※ Open air ocean view Free onsen ※ Crackpot naked Japanese guy ※ Amazing sunset views from cape ※ Contemplating about lonely self in the shiny sunlight ※ Shrine hanging from cliff over violent ocean waves ※ Driving through 4 hrs of frustrating traffic jam
