Sculpture in the Vineyards Highlights - 2018 - Undercliff Winery & Gallery
Wollombi Sculpture in the Vineyards 2018: Work to Scale. Filmed at Undercliff Winery & Gallery on Saturday 10 November ( which is located in Wollombi in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia.
We only visited the Undercliff vineyard, so unfortunately we didn't see all that much of the exhibition (it's spread across a number of other locations, including the Old Fireshed Gallery, and two other vineyards, Stonehurst Cedar Creek Wines and Noyce Brothers Wine). But we were lucky enough to catch the Makers Market on that day.
Many thanks to Peter Hamshere for his hospitality, and to Tara Morelos for the interview.

Tara Morelos (Creative Producer, Wollombi Sculpture in the Vineyards): With any outdoor event, artists look around and they look for inspiration in the natural environment. So, Sculpture in the Vineyards traditionally has had a lot of animal-themed works, and this year is no exception. The other theme that we have in Sculpture in the Vineyards is the environment and sustainability. So, again, water is a big concern, and we've just come through a really big drought here. A number of the artists are also working... are in that kind of recycled materials, repurposing materials. In this environment, we have a lot of variables. In fact, some of the variables happen to be wombats or kangaroos -- those kind of variables as well. Many surprises involved in working in the wild like this, and sometimes it's quite wild.
