Suspension Railway in Wuppertal, Germany (schwebebahn)
Have you ever seen anything like this? An upside down monorail - a suspended monorail in Wuppertal, Germany
-
The suspension railway runs along a route of 13.3 kilometres (8.3 mi), at a height of about 12 metres (39 ft) above the river Wupper between Oberbarmen and Sonnborner Straße (10 kilometres or 6.2 miles) and about 8 metres (26 ft) above the valley road between Sonnborner Straße and Vohwinkel (3.3 kilometres or 2.1 miles). At one point the railway crosses the A46 motorway. The entire trip takes about 30 minutes. The Wuppertal Suspension Railway operates within the VRR transport association and accepts tickets issued by the VRR companies.
-
The Wuppertal Suspension Railway nowadays carries up to 82,000 passengers a day through the city.

DORTMUND, EXPLORING the modern METRO (underground/subway), GERMANY ????
SUBSCRIBE!! - Let's go for a ride on the subway system of Dortmund, one of my most favorite German cities. It is clean, efficient and fun to ride in...
Dortmund is a city in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia region. It's known for its Westfalen Stadium, home to the Borussia soccer team. Nearby Westfalen Park is marked by the Florian Tower, with its observation platform. The Dortmund U-Tower is topped by a huge letter U and houses Museum Ostwall’s contemporary art exhibits. Rombergpark botanical garden has local trees and greenhouses with cacti and tropical plants.
Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

HAMBURG, EXPLORING the wonderful METRO (subway, underground), GERMANY ????
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go for a tour of this wonderful underground system in beautiful Hamburg in Germany.
Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany, is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe River. It's crossed by hundreds of canals, and also contains large areas of parkland. Near its core, Inner Alster lake is dotted with boats and surrounded by cafes. The city's central Jungfernstieg boulevard connects the Neustadt (new town) with the Altstadt (old town), home to landmarks like 18th-century St. Michael’s Church.

The Berlin U-Bahn ([uː.baːn]; short for Untergrundbahn, underground railway) is a rapid transit railway in Berlin, the capital city of Germany, and a major part of the city's public transport system. Together with the S-Bahn, a network of suburban train lines, it serves as the main means of transport in the capital. In addition, a tram network operates in the eastern parts of the city.
Opened in 1902, the U-Bahn serves 173 stations[1] spread across ten lines, with a total track length of 151.7 kilometres (94.3 mi),[1] about 80% of which is underground.[3] Trains run every two to five minutes during peak hours, every five minutes for the rest of the day and every ten minutes in the evening. Over the course of a year, U-Bahn trains travel 132 million km (82.0 million mi),[1] and carry over 400 million passengers.[1] In 2015, 534.5 million passengers rode the U-Bahn.[2] The entire system is maintained and operated by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, commonly known as the BVG.
Designed to alleviate traffic flowing into and out of central Berlin, the U-Bahn was rapidly expanded until the city was divided into East and West Berlin at the end of World War II. Although the system remained open to residents of both sides at first, the construction of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent restrictions imposed by the Government of East Germany limited travel across the border. The East Berlin U-Bahn lines from West Berlin were severed, except for two West Berlin lines that ran through East Berlin (U6 and U8). These were allowed to pass through East Berlin without stopping at any of the stations, which were closed. Friedrichstraße was the exception because it was used as a transfer point between U6 and the West Berlin S-Bahn system, and a border crossing into East Berlin. The system was reopened completely following the fall of the Berlin Wall, and German reunification.
The Berlin U-Bahn is the most extensive underground network in Germany.[1] In 2006, travel on the U-Bahn was equivalent to 122.2 million km (76 million mi) of car journeys.

Trains around Wuppertal, Germany. September 2018
Welcome to another European video. In this video we look at trains on the mainline through Wuppertal HBF, and a brief look at trains through nearby Oberbarmen. We see a variety of passenger trains from several operators, not just DB. We also see a number of freight trains pass through Hauptbahnhof between scheduled passenger service.
Wuppertal is a small station for a HBF at only 5 platforms, but is also part of the Köln (Cologne) suburban area, that city being only around 20 minutes away on a fast train. We close with a brief look at a TRI Rail train being pushed out of Oberbarmen - the northern terminus of the Schwebebahn.
All in all, Wuppertal is a small but interesting little city.
Thanks for watching! If you like what you see, please like, subscribe, click on the bell, and give me a thumbs up !!!
