Gdańsk, Poland
Gdańsk (Danzig in German) is a port city on the Baltic coast of Poland. At the center of its Main Town, reconstructed after WWII, are the colorful facades of Long Market, now home to shops and restaurants. Nearby is Neptune Fountain, a 17th-century symbol of the city topped by a bronze statue of the sea god. Gdańsk is also a center for the world’s amber trade; boutiques throughout the city sell the ossified resin.

Poland - Wieliczka Salt Mine - Travel Video
The Wieliczka Salt Mine is the oldest, continually working mine in the world. The mine was established in 1044 AD. What also makes this mine unique are the sculptures carved out of the rock salt. Lying on nine levels it's evacuations stretch for a total of 186 miles reaching a depth of 1079 feet. Today the mine houses an underground Hotel, Spa and Convention center. If you are anywhere near Krakow the place is a must see. City buses frequently run from Krakow to Wieliczka.

Climbing in Poland - Jura
We started our adventure in south Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska (precisely in Dolina Kobylańska and Dolina Będkowska) in Poland also known as the Polish Jurassic Highland. As the name suggests Jura is situated in between the cities of Cracow and Częstochowa and is proud to offer hundreds of limestone peaks. In Jura you will mainly find single pitch, sport routes but trad, multi-pitch and boulder lovers will also find something for them.
There are two main climbing areas in Jura. The north one is close to Częstochowa and we recommend to visit a town of Podlesice as a good accomodation spot (offering hotels, b&b's and campings). The south area is just outside of a typical city break destination - Cracow. The climbing crags are situated there in beautiful valleys (Dolina Będkowska, Dolina Kobylańska, etc.).
There is a climbing festival organised in Jura (Dolina Będkowska) every year called Integrowanie Przez Wspinanie (Integration through climbing). This year it takes place on 23-26 of May.

Auschwitz: Drone video of Nazi concentration camp - BBC News
Drone video shows the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp as it is today - 70 years after it was liberated by Soviet troops. The camp in Poland is now maintained as a World Heritage Site and is visited by thousands of tourists and survivors every year. Auschwitz was the largest camp established by the Germans during World War II. More than a million people - the vast majority of them Jews - died there between 1940, when it was built, and 1945, when it was liberated by the Soviet army.
Railway tracks into Auschwitz-Birkenau - Trains filled with victims from throughout occupied Europe arrived at the camp almost every day between 1942 and the summer of 1944.
Ruins of wooden huts at Birkenau - Birkenau (or Auschwitz II) was erected in 1941 solely as a death camp, the wooden huts are now in ruins with only brick fireplaces and chimneys remaining.
Entrance to Auschwitz I -The wrought-iron sign over the entrance bears the words Arbeit Macht Frei - Work sets you free.
Auschwitz I - The brick-built buildings were the former cavalry barracks of the Polish Army.
Courtyard between blocks 10 and 11 at Auschwitz I - Block 11 was called the Block of Death by prisoners. Executions took place between Block 10 and Block 11 and posts in the yard were used to string up prisoners by their wrists.
Auschwitz Birkenau is now a museum run by the Polish Culture Ministry, and a Unesco world heritage site.

Watch my social experiment (beautiful people share their deepest fears):
This trip I had to Poland and Germany had personal significance to me simply because I've read and studied not just German history but books by holocaust survivors/victims ( by Corrie Ten Boom and Anne Frank). The knowledge that I was walking on such bloody land and physically touching the walls of the ghetto made the trip meaningful and emotional. Sometimes we look at history in black and white but one must not forget that it's intricate: these were real people with real emotions just like you and I. Yet so many taken away from the world so painfully. I was completely shattered when I saw the little clothes and toys, my heart broke as why must the purest, most untainted go through life like this? How did mankind become so desensitised and hardened that we may turn on our own? It's a scary thought that so many could be like that.
I know I've gained loads of weight in Europe but working on it!!
The article i was talking about:
I want to clarify and say that I don't mean that any gender is more dangerous but rather stories like this make me want to avoid the awkward situation altogether.
