Creative Responses to Place with Understory
Artspiration episode 15 takes us to the beautiful forests of WA's South West - where the pressure of local logging activity encouraged a community to gather in creativity and express their own vision of the forest through contemporary art.
Southern Forest Arts Project Coordinator Fiona Sinclair, Northcliffe Visitor Centre Manager Wendy Eiby and artist Peter Hill tell us about the challenges and rewards of maintaining a gallery in the bush - and what it has meant for the Northcliffe community.

'A couple of days Feb 13-18
Five days packed with new sculptures and adventures, I feel as if the project has only really started and everything till now has been a moving up to this.
I gave a tour and workshop for 19 kids at the Northcliffe Understory Sculpture Trail about my work Rising from the Ashes. We then divided the kids into teams of two for making face molds in plaster. The workshop finished when the students cast their molds with Charcoal to be used at a later date.
