We love kayaking at Montenegro’s incredible Lake Skadar National Park so much that we even choose to do it on our days off! We filmed this video yesterday - a chance to take the littlest members of our team out for a paddle and with some of their friends along for the ride - all age 7 and under. Lake Skadar in Montenegro!
Lake Skadar is beautiful! Perrine and I hired a tour guide with a boat to take us on the lake for half a day. We visited several areas, including the small town of Rijeka Crnojevica and Vranjina Monastery (or St. Nicholas Monastery). After that, we climbed up to the castle of Virpazar, then had a nice dinner.
Our tour guide was a really decent guy called Ivan. He speaks good English and Russian and his company is called Kormoran. He also arranged for us to have dinner at his family's restaurant.

Lake Skadar National Park | Boat Ride on the Balkans' Largest Lake
Spending the day on #LakeSkadar was our FAVORITE thing that we did while in #Montenegro. Lake Skadar National Park is the largest lake in the #Balkans, and it's actually on the border of Montenegro and Albania. We were on the Montenegrin side, and saw some absolutely incredible sights!
We arranged for a boat ride/tour with Boat Milica, an awesome boating company who we'll link to below. The boat ride started in the small fishing village of Virpazar, and took as all over the lake to see the most beautiful and scenic parts. We even saw two endangered pelicans!
Overall, we highly recommend Lake Skadar National Park to anyone going to the Balkans! Definitely arrange for a boat ride or kayak rentals ahead of time so you can spend some time on the waters.
If you want to learn more about what we did, feel free to visit our blog post:

LAKE SKADAR, MONTENEGRO: ISLAND-HOPPING MONASTERIES KAYAKING ADVENTURE REVIEW VIDEO
I've recently got back from Montenegro, where we visited the remote Lake Skadar, owned half by Montenegro and half by Albania. The stunning lake has hundreds of even more remote islands dotted in it and we did an island-hopping kayak adventure tour where we paddled around the islands, stopping off at a couple too - one had a monastery on it and the other had a convent and we met the nuns! It was an awesome day from beginning to end (thank you Undiscovered Montenegro and guide Vuk) and we even stopped off to swim and cool off during the day. Heavenly from beginning to end. Watch this review video and you'll see why this is somewhere to go. Very special and very unusual.
