Speech at 37th OKM Conference, Ungma (Mokokchung,Nagaland) - Temsutula Imsong
Spoke on My Vision at the conference. The speech is in Ao dialect.(Chungli ,Ungma) Summary is given below -
“Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you”.
All my life, I have realized the importance of Creative imagination, which is required to raise new questions, explore new possibilities and to look at old problems from a new angle to make real advances in society.
Since the theme of this OKM conference is- Exceeding Possibilities, can we look beyond our tribal identities, all the while being immensely proud of them, and provide tangible solutions for the problems that have been so beautifully discussed and presented by young people in this conference.
• Can we resolve to provide simple, economical and yet exemplary solutions to the water scarcity that is faced by almost everyone here.
• Can we resolve to do everything in our capacity,in terms of correspondence to some action on ground,to make sure that our region has the best connectivity in terms of four lane roads and also a well connected railway station at Mokokchung?
• Can we resolve to do everything in our capacity to ensure basic first aid facilities, telemedicine facilities and testing facilities in our villages so that they don't have to run around when the need arises.
• Can we resolve to be instrumental in initiating the process of setting up world class educational institution either government or private and also by the devoting sometime in teaching those who are needy in subjects that we are good in?
• Can we resolve to make sure that our youngsters who are good in sports get an opportunity to train and perform at National and international stage.
• Can we ensure that all our farmers have access to best technology, soil testing facilities & best prices reaching their door steps.
• Can we make sure that by the time we meet for the next OKM conference,Ongpangkong range is declared as the cleanest range in entire India with the best waste management and other eco friendly practices which serve as an example for everyone to emulate.
When we meet in Kubza for the next OKM conference, let’s work hard to showcase our achievements on the above mentioned points.
Now the question arises how do we do that? In this era of technological advancement, with their WhatsApp,Facebook,Instagram and other social media accounts, almost everyone is a walking newspaper and television channel. And I am really impressed with the drafting skills of our people. Let's start with correspondence like mails and letters in every possible Forum and avenue. I have decided to devote myself to this and I'd appreciate anyone joining me in these efforts.
