Uniacke Estate Museum Park - Nova Scotia
Touring the beautiful grounds of historic Unicake Estate Museum Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The former estate of Richard John Uniacke remains as beautiful today as it was when it was built almost 200 years ago. For more info, visit:

Mount Uniacke Estate - Hiking in Nova Scotia
In this video, I will be hiking the easy trails within the Mount Uniacke Estate Museum grounds. I'm also hunting for a historical item from the past.
By hiking along the old post trail, you might find one of the few remaining items from the old stage coach days, where the mile marker 27 is etched into a stone.
There are 7 trails to explore, just by doing the easy ones as in the video, you will need to budget around 2 hours and expect the walk at least 6km.
We hiked along the following trails: Lake Martha Loop, Post Road, Drumlin Field & Hothouse Hill. There are some back country loop, but we did explore them today.
The grounds are open year-around, but expect regular seasonal hours to access the museum itself.
Some excerpts from the museum website:
Built as a summer home for Richard John Uniacke, a Nova Scotian Attorney-General, the estate was prominently located along the stage coach route from Halifax to Windsor, a testimony to Uniacke's wealth and personal achievement.
The family summered in the area as early as the 1790s, probably staying in a farmhouse on the original land grant. Construction of the new house and out-buildings began in 1813 and was completed three years later. Although he maintained a house in Halifax, Uniacke would spend most of his time living in semi-retirement at the estate until his death in 1830.
Nostalgic for his native Ireland, he modeled his property after the Irish country estates, or working farms, he had known as a child. His estate included a large family home, a number of barns, a coach house, guest house, wash house, baths, privy, hot house, caretaker's house and an ice house.

Taylor Head Provincial Park - Hiking in Nova Scotia
Nice medium hike along the Spry Bay trail at taylors head provincial beach, just 30 min further up the show past clam harbour provincial beach.
cell phone reception is good for bell & telus. trails range from beach to backcountry footpath. Although ok for young children & pets, I would recommend leaving them home as the coastline is unspoiled. Access to the trails is available during most of the year. During winter, the gates might be close where you will only have the 9.5km trail available.
Taylor Head Provincial Park, on Nova Scotia's picturesque Eastern Shore, occupies a rugged wind-swept peninsula jutting six and a half kilometres into the Atlantic Ocean. Taylor Head contains many interesting geological features, a diversity of natural habitats and wildlife species, scenic look-offs, secluded beaches and 16 kilometres of unspoiled coastline. These features provide opportunities for a range of exciting outdoor activities.
Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore was settled in the late 18th century by Loyalists fleeing the American Revolution. Discharged soldiers were also granted land in this area. Originally a seasonal home for fishermen, Taylor Head was inhabited in the early 19th century. The community, dependant on farming, fishing and lumbering, existed until the mid-20th century. A small cemetery in the park is the resting place of several Newcombs who, along with the McCarthys, were among the original families to settle at Taylor Head.
Taylor Head Provincial Park is located on the Eastern Shore, 0.4 kilometres east of Spry Bay, Halifax County, and 11 kilome- tres southwest of Sheet Harbour on Route 7, the Marine Drive.
The park's numerous hiking trails and walks provide access to a variety of natural habitat and many scenic vistas along the shore of Taylor Head. Expect challenging conditions. Hiking boots or other suitable footwear are required.
The Spry Bay trail, a four kilometre (3 hours return) loop, passes through a coastal forest of spruce and fir, coastal barren dominated by crowberry, wave-swept boulder shores, coastal freshmarsh, and an inland barren. The trail provides magnificent views of Spry Bay and the rugged coastline of Taylor Head.
Bob Bluff trail is a three kilometre (1 hours return) trip. From the north end of Psyche Cove this trail provides several enchanting vistas of Mushaboom Harbour and its many islands.
The six kilometre (3hours return) Bull Beach trail begins at Bob Bluff and winds along the coast to Bull Beach through a spruce-fir forest overlooking Mushaboom Harbour.
All beaches are unsupervised. Never swim alone. Children should be watched closely whenever they are in or near the water. Inflatable swimming aids should not be used.
A two kilometre (1 hour return) Beach Walk traverses the sandy shore of Psyche Cove Beach system. This walk is excellent for bird watching and enjoying the scenic coastal landscapes.
A narrow but deep and fast-flowing stream on the barrier beach marks the end of this trail.
The Headland trail is an eight kilometre (4-5 hours return) loop trail. The first section follows the Spry Bay Trail, then heads off on a rugged but rewarding coastline walk to Taylor Head Point. The trail returns on the opposite side of Taylor Head where it rejoins the Spry Bay Trail.

216th - Nova Scotia Skate Road Trip - Mount Uniacke Skatepark
We are finally arrive at destination Nova Scotia. We pass the night at Truro at my friend's house! Feels good to recover inside instead of the car ! So 2 years ago I came here and couldn't ride it because it was built but not open ... Anyway I didn't miss my shot this time even if it was incredibly hot!! A little less shit filming than the previous day in Kimble! This park is another amazing and sick one ! Sick park for sick lines ! The end is kinda funny because we were running out of batteries and I was running out of energy too cause we stayed there for a few hours! We kinda woke up a little late because we had to catch up some sleep! We're not too far from Windsor park small plaza so that will give the camera a little time to charge and same for me!

Fort Anne, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia
Fort Anne is a typical star fort built to protect the harbour of Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. The fort repelled all French attacks during the early stages of King George's War.
It is now operated as Fort Anne National Historic Site, within the national park system and managed by Parks Canada. The 1797 officer's quarters was renovated in the 1930s and now house the museum with exhibits about the fort's history and historic artifacts from the area.
A 1/2 km trail runs along the fort's earthen walls, and provides a view of the Annapolis River and basin.
