Former confectionery factory recognised for historical value
An early Dunedin confectionery factory has been recognised for its historical value.
Heritage New Zealand has listed the former Romison's Confectionery Works building in Great King Street as a category two historic place.
Designed in nineteen ten, the triple-brick building is home to the University Book Shop.
Heritage New Zealand say the building was built for Russian Jewish emigrant Julius Romison, who arrived in Dunedin during the mid eighteen eighties.
After outgrowing the premises, Romison commissioned a purpose-built confectionery works, before the business shifted to Oamaru in the nineteen forties.
Today that company survives as Rainbow Confectionery.
The original factory building became the University Book Shop in nineteen sixty two.
Category two historic places are deemed to be of historical or cultural significance or value.

Watch the whole video and tell me how many cats you counted in the coffee shop called Catnap cafe.
New Zealand is saturated with coffee shops. There's like a coffee shop in every corner of the street. I myself don't drink much coffee I'm more of a bubble tea fanboy. It's the school holidays here in New Zealand so I and a few students decided to check out a Christchurch coffee shop. What's interesting about this coffee shop is it's full of cats! It's called Catnap cafe. This coffee shop was near me and It's probably New Zealand's first cat cafe (unsure). Watch the whole video and tell me how many cats you counted in the coffee shop called Catnap cafe.
Bookings (not sponsored)
P.S. We also visited the new bubble tea shop called BobaLab. New boba flavors every week!
Coffee shops near me. New Zealand Life. South Island. North Island. Auckland. Hamilton. Wellington. Christchurch. Dunedin. Queenstown.

Flights to New Zealand: Central City Downtown Auckland
Book flights to New Zealand:
We asked some travelers what they thought of their flights to New Zealand and what they planned to do in Auckland. This is this visitor's third trip in four years and he particularly likes the central city in downtown Auckland, with excellent shops, historic buildings, art galleries, top restaurants and bars and the Viaduct Basin, the hub of Auckland's boating culture. He says Auckland gets better every time he visits.
