No propaganda!
Welcome to A Life That Travels, a channel dedicated to providing independent, unbiased advice and stories from around the world.
Why does A Life That Travels exist?
Because SOCIETY shouldn't set the LIMITS on WHO YOU CAN BE.
But it tries to.
Making decisions about what to do with your life is hard and there's way too much pressure on people to work it all out and to find your passion... like you're some kind of failure if you don't.
So here's the truth.
You've got plenty of time and working it out is hard.
You can study (uni or technical/vocation ed).
You can go travelling.
You can get a job and dive straight into your career.
And you know what?
ALL of these are PERFECTLY acceptable options.
And that's where A Life That Travels comes in.
* Interviews with REAL PEOPLE who've done INTERESTING things with their lives, through study, work and travel, so that maybe you can find your own ideas in their stories
* Travel stories, destinations and advice... so if you want to see the world you'll see it's not so scary stepping out of your comfort zone.
* Unbiased reviews of universities and other study options so you can cut through the noise and make clearer decisions.

There are 43 universities in Australia: 40 public universities, two international universities, and one private university. The Commonwealth Higher Education Support Act 2003 sets out three groups of Australian higher education providers: universities, other self-accrediting higher education institutions, and state and territory accredited higher education institutions.
1. Australian National University (ANU)
2. University of Melbourne
3. University of Sydney
4. University of New South Wales (UNSW)
5. University of Queensland (UQ)
6. Monash University
7. University of Western Australia (UWA)
8. University of Adelaide
9. University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)
10. University of Wollongong
11. University of Newcastle
12. Macquarie University
13. RMIT University
14. Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
15. University of South Australia (UNISA)
16. Curtin University

As Australia uses a Federal system of government, responsibility for education, and admission to Technical and Further Education colleges and undergraduate degrees at universities for domestic students, are in the domain of state and territory government (see Education in Australia).
All states except Tasmania have centralized processing units for admission to undergraduate degrees for citizens of Australia and New Zealand, and for Australian permanent residents; however applications for international and postgraduate students are usually accepted by individual universities.
The Australian government operates the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (This has been replaced by the very similar HECS-HELP - Higher Education Loan Program) for undergraduate students, so admission is rarely limited by prospective students' ability to pay up-front.
All states use a system that awards the recipient with an ATAR, and the award of an International Baccalaureate meets the minimum requirements for admission in every state.
ATARs are awarded based on the level of attainment in each State's individual secondary schooling exams (such as the NSW HSC).
For individuals without an ATAR, or recent secondary schooling certificate, the Special Tertiary Admissions Test is used as the standard test to provide an ATAR.
The maximum possible ATAR is 99.95, indicating that the student has achieved better than 99.95% of their peers.
