Romania's first humanoid DIY robot unveiled
(24 May 2017) LEADIN:
Romania's first humanoid DIY robot has been unveiled in Romania.
It can grab, hold and drop and even answer questions.
STORYLINE:
This is Romania's first humanoid DIY robot.
The life-size white plastic model doesn't have a name, but it can respond to voice commands.
Its developer, Gael Langevin, a French sculptor and designer happily demonstrated his creation at the unveiling in Bucharest Tuesday (23rd May 2017).
The robot repeated Langevin's questions to make sure it had understood, and then performed the task.
Langevin admits, his model is not yet perfect.
This is a little bit like Geppetto building Pinocchio - you make a robot and you send it in the world and you see what the others are going to do with it and hopefully he s going to be on the right path, he says.
If connected to the Internet, the robot can answer a variety of questions taken from Wikipedia.
To make the model, DIY robot builders will need a computer, a 3D printer, materials and the skills to assemble it, although InMoov offers a list of builders in different countries.
It is hoped the robot will be used in universities help children in schools and hospitals.
It is mainly educational, so the goal of this robot is not to produce a robot that is able to do kitchen or something like this, it's really to have education in the schools and universities for people to learn and to progress with the robot, says Langevin.
So we've seen a project for example that they've started in London and now is proceeding in Sacramento in America, the idea is to have this robot on wheels and it's in a hospital, and you have some kids that are hospitalised in a sterilised room because they have some kind of illness, they cannot come out and they have ochen shrifts which is some kind of goggles and they can see though the eyes of the robot and being in the room they can make the robot move around outside the hospital. So it's something that they are working on, that's one of the projects that we have. We have also a project using just the hand to teach children that are deaf sign language.
The robot costs around 1500 euro for the materials and designs, but this excludes the cost of a 3d printer and high spec computer needed to create it.

Driving in Romania is hard, so if you like to come in visit, you will need to wait some time in traffic.
But Romania still in map of Europe, people come to doing business in Romania, and start to see Romania more good international.
It was a guy, who asked me how much cost of living in Romania, and i say to him It's like a car hire in Romania, you will have a house, but not for a long time. The governament sistem don't work so well, and the Romania property, medical school, cost of living and much more, it's kind of expensive.
But if you want o moving in Romania, then you need to know also:
- You have places to see.
- You have medical universities and much more in Romania
- Cost of traveling to Romania is kind of cheep.
- Trips to Romania are kind of cheep also.
