A huge bucket list item was crossed off for us just before 2016 came to an end! We went on a helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef, decided to land on a sandy cay and jumped into the warm fish filled waters! best. day. ever.

Our day trip from Cairns to Upolu Cay - one of the many snorkelling and scuba hotspots on the Great Barrier Reef. We were lucky enough to see a reef shark, sea turtle and a small stingray! Thanks to Reef Daytripper ( for a great day out!

Michaelmas Cays is a national park in Queensland, Australia, 1,409 km (876 mi)northwest of Brisbane and 33 km east of Cairns. It comprises two small cays on Michaelmas Reef, which forms the north-eastern section of the Arlington reef complex, within the Great Barrier Reef.
Took this video at the beginning of Oct 2013 with perfect the view is even better when you're there, the video does not do it justice.

This is my first attempt of videoing my diving. It was filmed on a Gopro Hero 2 using a red filter. I think at this depth the red filter was not needed. Some reflection is needed and i hope my next underwater fvideo is of a better quality.
