Newport Back Bay for Newport Back Bay
The Upper Newport Back Bay is a large coastal wetland (an estuary) in Newport Beach, Southern California and a major stopover for birds on the Pacific Flyway. Dozens of species, including endangered ones, can be observed here. Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve and Ecological Reserve represent approximately 1,000 acres of open space. In 1985 the upper west bluffs and lands surrounding the bay became part of an Orange County regional park, which offers outdoor activities such as bird-watching, jogging, bicycling, hiking, and kayaking. The Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center is great to learn about the area and fun for all ages.

Walking along Newport Beach in Orange County, California 【4K】
Newport Beach, a coastal city in southern California, is known for its large, boat-filled harbor. Balboa Peninsula has 2 piers, Newport Beach Pier and Balboa Pier, plus the Balboa Fun Zone, an old-school amusement park with a Ferris wheel and ocean views.
The city is famous for its lavish lifestyle and beautiful surroundings. It is nestled on the Pacific Ocean and is a favorite amongst surfers. The Wedge, at the end of the Balboa Peninsula, is famed for its challenging surf, but Newport's miles of wide beaches offer plenty of room for everyone, except on the busiest summer weekends. There is a concrete boardwalk running along the beach from the east of the Balboa pier to west of the Newport pier.

Newport Beach Castaways Park and Environmental Nature Center
Part of the jewels of Orange County, Castaways Park was saved by local environmentalists as an entirely native plant restoration area on part of the ridgeline overlooking the Newport Back Bay Ecological Reserve.
Nearby, the Environmental Nature Center is taking shape, very close to the Newport Beach High School, a good sign that the next generation will be aware of and involved in the effort to preserve what's left.
