One of them named Jō-an is a 17th century tea house. Considered one of the top three tea rooms in the country, it was designated National Treasure in 1951.

Jo-an tea ceremony house was built in 1618 by Oda Uraku, one of the great masters of Japanese tea ceremony.Uraku spent unusual life as a younger brother of Oda Nobunaga, a mighty ruler of the sixteenth century Japan. Jo-an and connected Shoden-in (a study) was a place of Uraku's seclusion in his last year.Jo-an is highly renowned as one of the three best tea ceremony houses and was designated as a national treasure.

織田有楽斎は信長の実弟で茶の湯の創生期に尾張が生んだ大茶匠である。晩年、有楽は武 家を棄て京都建仁寺の正伝院に、隠棲した。如庵はその境内に1618ころ建てた茶室で あり現存する国宝茶席三名席の一つなっている。また隣接する旧正伝院は重要文化財に指定されている。遺構は各地を転々としたが、安住の地を犬山に得て「有楽 苑」として公開されている。

Nach dem Besuch des Inuyama-Schlosses sind wir noch in einen japanischen Garten, den Uraku-en gegangen, in welchem sich auch einige Teehäuser befinden.
Anschließend, auf dem Rückweg zu einer anderen Bahnstation, sind wir noch durch die Castle City unterhalb des Schlosses Inuyama entlang gegangen.
